Boundary Feedback Stabilization of the Undamped Euler--Bernoulli Beam with Both Ends Free

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2004
Summary: We are concerned with a boundary feedback system of a class of nonuniform undamped Euler--Bernoulli beam with both ends free. We give some sufficient conditions and some necessary conditions for the system to have exponential stability. Our method is based on the operator semigroup technique, the multiplier technique, and the contradiction ...

A MAP/PH/1 queue with Setup time, Bernoulli vacation, Reneging, Balking, Bernoulli feedback, Breakdown and repair

2021
A single server classical queueing model with Markovian Arrival Process(MAP), phase-type(PH) distributed service time and rest of the random variables are distributed exponentially is investigated. By making use of matrix analytic method, the resultant QBD process is examined in the stationary state.

Queueing Delay in a Finite-Buffer Model with Failures and Bernoulli Feedback

2017
In the paper a finite-capacity queueing model with server breakdowns is considered. Jobs arrive according to a Poisson process and are being served during exponentially distributed processing time under the FIFO service discipline. During the operation of the system successive exponential failure-free times are followed by generally distributed repair ...

Robust stabilization of Bernoulli-Euler beam by one point feedback

Proceedings of IEEE/IAS International Conference on Industrial Automation and Control, 2002
This paper deals with the stabilization of a distributed parameter system based on multilinear box theorem and in which some vertex type of results are possible. The system is modelled using an infinite partial fraction expansion. While the control is designed based on a truncated interval model. The advantages are: one can use well established methods

A hinged network of Euler-Bernoulli beams under feedback controls

2010 3rd International Symposium on Systems and Control in Aeronautics and Astronautics, 2010
In this paper, we design boundary feedback controllers at the interior node to stabilize a star-shaped network of Euler-Bernoulli beams. The beams are hinged each other, that is, the displacements of the structure are continuous but the rotations of the beams are not continuous.

A single server instantaneous bernoulli feedback queue with multiple vacation

Optimization, 1996
A single server infinite capacity queueing system with Poisson arrival and a general service time distribution along with Bernoulli feedback decision process is considered. As soon as the server becomes idle he leaves for a vacation and the duration of the vacation follows a general distribution Stationary distribution of the output process as well as ...

The Relationship Between Bernoulli and Fixed Feedback Policies for the M/G/1 Queue

Operations Research, 1994
We consider an M/G/1 queue with feedback, in which customers, after receiving service, either return to the tail of the queue or depart the system, according to some feedback policy. We derive simple expressions for the expected response time for feedback policies that include Bernoulli feedback and feeding back a fixed number of times.
