The metabolism of beta-alanine by lobster nervous tissue in vitro
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part C: Comparative Pharmacology, 1976Abstract 1. 1. Lobster abdominal ganglionic preparations formed [β-3H]alanine efficiently in vitro from [6-3H]uracil but not aspartic [2,3-3H]acid. 2. 2. This labeled product was retained unaltered as a consequence of its relatively slow catabolism. 3. 3.

[Immunoregulative effects of carnosine and beta-alanine].
Nihon seirigaku zasshi. Journal of the Physiological Society of Japan, 1986Physiological factors involved in immunity and tissue repair with regulate homeostasis, a physiological function of the connective tissue, are as yet unidentified. We earlier detected the granulation-promoting action of carnosine, and reported on the acceleration of tissue repair in experimental as well as clinical studies.
