Comparative Analysis of the Protein Composition of Goat Milk from French Alpine, Nubian, and Creole Breeds and Holstein Friesian Cow Milk: Implications for Early Infant Nutrition

open access: yesAnimals, 2022
Of the diversity of proteins and high digestibility, goat milk will be a food of significant value for infant nutrition. The genetic polymorphisms of milk proteins play an essential role in the different degrees of allergic reactions.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

The Effect of the Genotypes of the CSN2 Gene on Test-Day Milk Yields in the Slovak Holstein Cow

open access: yesAgriculture, 2023
The aim of this study was to analyze the polymorphisms of the beta-casein gene and describe the association between the beta-casein genotypes and milk production in high milk-production Slovak Holstein cattle herds. Genomic DNA was isolated from the hair

T Cell Exhaustion in Cancer Immunotherapy: Heterogeneity, Mechanisms, and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
T cell exhaustion limits immunotherapy efficacy. This article delineates its progression from stem‐like to terminally exhausted states, governed by persistent antigen, transcription factors, epigenetics, and metabolism. It maps the exhaustion landscape in the TME and proposes integrated reversal strategies, providing a translational roadmap to overcome

Casein fractions of ultra high temperature milk with different somatic cell counts Frações de caseína de leite longa-vida com diferentes contagens de células somáticas

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira, 2008
The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of somatic cell counts (SCC) in casein fractions of ultra high temperature (UHT) milk. Raw milks were categorized in SCC groups of low (200,000-320,000 cells mL-1), intermediate (380,000-560,000 cells

Spatiotemporal Control of Formation of Dynamic Protein Fiber Assemblies via Photophysical Effects of a Focused Laser Beam

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tightly focused laser irradiation can accumulate tubulin proteins at/around the laser focus, which leads to the formation of highly ordered microtubule assemblies. The assemblies can exhibit various dynamic behaviors such as radial motion, bundling, and flagella‐like rotation with motor protein and chemical energy, highlighting as a unique tool for ...

Milk protein and cheese yield in buffalo species

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2010
Buffalo milk samples differing significantly for cheese yield values were analysed by 2D electrophoresis in order to outline a protein profile, with specific regards to k-casein fractions.

Milk protein polymorphisms and effect of herds on cows` milk composition [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2013
Kappa-casein (CSN3) and beta-lactoglobulin (LGB) loci affect milk yield traits and the quality of milk protein. Their polymorphisms explain the role of genetic variance and facilitate estimation of breeding value. Our research was aimed at estimating the

CK2α Deficiency Drives Myocardial Fibrosis via Desmin‐Induced Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CK2α preserves mitochondrial homeostasis by phosphorylating Desmin to recruit Cryab, ensuring proper filament assembly. CK2α deficiency disrupts this interaction, causing mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic shifts, bioenergetic failure, and oxidative stress—ultimately establishing a pro‐fibrotic environment that drives cardiac fibrosis.

Use of SNPs from Illumina BovineSNP50K BeadChip v3 for imputation of microsatellite alleles for parentage verification and QTL reporting

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2020
The present study aimed to test the possibility of avoiding expensive retesting of the whole parental generation for single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), to provide additional analysis of microsatellites in offspring in the transitional period and to ...
