Bitterness Reduction with Beta-Cyclodextrin
1988The reduction of bitternes of three drugs having different but scarcerly tolerable bitterness (libexine hydrochloride, =LBX, pinaverium bromide =PVB and acetaminophen, =AAP) was studied by beta-cyclodextrin (βCD) complexation in solution and in solid state.

6 A ,6 B -Bis-O-[p-(allyloxy)phenyl]per-O-methyl-β-cyclodextrin, prepared from β-cyclodextrin (CD) by a five-step process, has two isomeric forms. Form A has the two p-(allyloxy)phenyl substituents directed away from the CD cavity, while form B is a rotoxane with one p-(allyloxy)-phenyl group in the CD cavity.

beta-Cyclodextrin as an aid to peritoneal dialysis. Renal toxicity of beta-cyclodextrin in the rat.
Research communications in chemical pathology and pharmacology, 1978A peritoneal dialysate containing beta-cyclodextrin has been shown to accelerate the removal of intravenously administered phenobarbital in rats. It was found that high concentrations of beta-cyclodextrin were toxic to the animals in the single exchange technique employed.

Inclusion complexes of sulfanilamide with beta-cyclodextrin and 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin
2014Sulfanilamide belongs to the group of drugs that have a bacteriostatic effect on different pathogenic microorganisms. This activity originates from the competitive antagonism with p-aminobenzoic acid, which is an integral part of folic acid. The safe use of sulfanilamide is limited due to poor solubility in the aqueous medium.

[Inactivation of soman by beta-cyclodextrin].
Comptes rendus de l'Academie des sciences. Serie III, Sciences de la vie, 1985Soman (pinacolyl methylphosphonofluoridate), a mixture of four stereoisomers, is inactivated appreciably in Tris buffer, pH 7.40, mu = 0.155 at 25 degrees C by beta-cyclodextrin (cycloheptaamylose, beta-CD). Under these conditions, the dissociation constant Kd of the 1:1 complex formed by beta-CD and soman and the rate constant k2 for the ...

Effects of beta-cyclodextrin and hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin on minoxidil solutions
The effects of beta-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin (HP-β- CD) on solubility, stability and membrane permeation of minoxidil were investigated. From the solubility diagrams showed that β-CD increased minoxidil solubility by Bs- type complex formation while HP-β-CD gave AL-type complex formation.openaire +1 more source
Interaction of soman with beta-cyclodextrin.
Fundamental and applied toxicology : official journal of the Society of Toxicology, 1987Of the following neurotoxic agents, pinacolyl methylphosphonofluoridate (soman), isopropyl methylphosphonofluoridate (sarin) and ethyl N,N-dimethylphosphoramidocyanidate (tabun), only soman was inactivated appreciably at pH 7.40 by beta-cyclodextrin.

Studies on adsorption of dyes on beta-cyclodextrin polymer
Bioresource Technology, 2003Beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) polymers are used for the removal of various dyes from aqueous solutions. Three insoluble polymers with different degrees of beta-CD were used. Results of adsorption experiments showed that these polymers exhibited high sorption capacities toward dyes.

Positron annihilation in alpha- and beta-cyclodextrin
Applied Physics, 1978We have measured positron annihilation lifetimes in α- and β-cyclodextrin samples both in air and in vacuum. The existence of different hollow spaces in these clathrates offers a good test of the “free volume” model of positronium decay in molecular solids.

Effects of beta-cyclodextrin and hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin on stability of ranitidine HCl
Inclusion complexes of ranitidine HCI with β -cyclodextrin or 2-hydroxypropyl- β -cyclodextrin were prepared by means of co-grinding, freeze-drying and kneading techniques with three molar ratios (1:1, 1:2, and 2:1). Fourier-transform infrared spectra of both complex systems suggested that no strong chemical interaction was formed between the drug and ...openaire +1 more source
