Isolation and characterization of jack bean beta-galactosidase.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1975
A simple procedure has been devised to isolate beta-galactosidase from jack bean meal. The final preparation gives one major protein banc in disc gel electrophoresis. The substrate specificity of this enzyme toward some natural oligosaccharides, glycoproteins, and sphingoglycolipids has been examined in detail.

Comprehensive Genetic Map of Muscle Lipidome Reveals Novel Insights Into Flavor Variation in Ruminant Meat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ruminant meat is widely appreciated for its distinctive flavor. Lipids play a central role in influencing meat flavor, yet their genetic and biochemical basis remains largely unexplored. Here, a comprehensive lipid genetic map of sheep muscle is constructed and 20 candidate genes potentially modulating lipid levels are identified to provide a roadmap ...

EGFR‐TKIs Induced DPP4 Drives Metabolic Reprogramming of Persister Cells in Lung Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Drug‐tolerant persister (DTP) cells emerge early during EGFR‐TKI treatment, preceding the development of acquired resistance. Elevated DPP4 in DTP cells drives metabolic reprogramming and antioxidant adaptation, promoting cell survival under drug pressure.

A Study of Skeletal Stem Cell Dynamics and Its Potential Applications in the Design of a Titanium Implant for Senile Osteoporosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Senescent mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) drive age‐related osteoporosis (A‐OP) via adipogenic bias. Resveratrol, selected from transcriptome‐identified core genes, is delivered locally using GelMA‐chitosan hydrogel‐functionalised titanium implants. In A‐OP microenvironments, the hydrogel enables the sustained release of resveratrol, which reverses ...

Study of the transgalactosylation activity of ß-galactosidase from a new strain Kluyveromyces lactis 3 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of BioScience and Biotechnology, 2012
Beta-galactosidase (EC.3.2.1.23) is an important enzyme industrially used for the hydrolysis of lactose from milk and milk whey for several applications.

Modulating Macrophage–Nucleus Pulposus Cell Crosstalk via Sequential Drug Delivery Attenuates Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The G‐CS/MSN drug delivery system enhances intervertebral disc repair through sequential drug release. Abstract Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is characterized by an inflammatory environment and dysregulation of the extracellular matrix metabolism (ECM).

Engineered Anti‐Senescence Trachea With Post‐Transplanted Regenerative Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bioengineered trachea undergoes post‐transplanted senescence, which is found in this study for the first time. Hebe‐ET is designed with dual anti‐senescence strategies: fiber‐film scaffold in cartilage rings for close‐packed cell interaction, and quercetin‐loaded fibrous rings for immune modulation.

Lysosomal hydrolases in neuronal, astroglial, and olidodendroglial enriched fractions of rabbit and beef brain.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1979
Arylsulfatases A, B, and C, beta-galactosidase, and acid phosphatase were assayed in neuronal, astroglial, and oligodendroglial fractions isolated from adult rabbit and beef brains.
