Transcriptional repression of SOX2 by p53 in cancer cells regulates cell identity and migration
What's New? SOX2 is one of the key developmental genes with a reported altered expression in many tumors. The mechanisms underlying SOX2 regulation in cancer, however, remain elusive. This study shows that TP53 transcriptionally regulates SOX2 through binding to its promoter and the SRR2 enhancer.

A reporter phage T4::Nluc was constructed using the CRISPR/Cas9 system combined with homologous recombination and was applied for the detection of clinical Escherichia coli in urinary tract infections (UTIs). T4::Nluc exhibited superior sensitivity and specificity, and had a short detection time, making it a powerful tool for diagnosing UTIs.

Prenatal prednisone therapy (PPT)/prenatal prednisone exposure (PPE) induces long bone dysplasia, reduced peak bone mass (PBM), and increased osteoporosis susceptibility in female offspring. Maternal gut microbiota metabolite daidzein (DAI) mediates PPE‐induced osteoporosis susceptibility in female adult offspring.

Mutual shaping of tumor microbiota and TME. Intratumoral microbiota—comprising diverse bacteria, fungi, viruses, and intracellular organisms—play critical and dynamic roles in shaping the tumor microenvironment (TME). Their spatial and compositional diversity contributes to both intratumoral and intertumoral heterogeneity, influencing immune modulation

ABSTRACT Metaproteomics is a valuable approach to characterize the biological functions involved in the gut microbiota (GM) response to dietary interventions. Ketogenic diets (KDs) are very effective in controlling seizure severity and frequency in drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) and in the weight loss management in obese/overweight individuals.

This work presents a single‐molecule detection platform that does not rely on the partitioning of analyzed liquid samples and on enzymatic amplification of fluorescence signals. A flexible polymer linker serves to spatially confine catalytic‐harpin assembly‐based DNA amplification.
