.BETA.-Xylosidase activity and transxylosyl reaction in the presence of water miscible solvents.

open access: yesJournal of the agricultural chemical society of Japan, 1988

The pathogen Moniliophthora perniciosa promotes differential proteomic modulation of cacao genotypes with contrasting resistance to witches´ broom disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Background: Witches' broom disease (WBD) of cacao (Theobroma cacao L.), caused by Moniliophthora perniciosa, is the most important limiting factor for the cacao production in Brazil.

Characterisation of novel biomass degradation enzymes from the genome of Cellulomonas fimi [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Recent analyses of genome sequences belonging to cellulolytic bacteria have revealed many genes potentially coding for cellulosic biomass degradation enzymes. Annotation of these genes however, is based on few biochemically characterised examples.

Transcriptome analysis of Aspergillus niger xlnR and xkiA mutants grown on corn Stover and soybean hulls reveals a highly complex regulatory network. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
BACKGROUND:Enzymatic plant biomass degradation by fungi is a highly complex process and one of the leading challenges in developing a biobased economy. Some industrial fungi (e.g.

Bifidobacteria exhibit social behavior through carbohydrate resource sharing in the gut [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Bifidobacteria are common and frequently dominant members of the gut microbiota of many animals, including mammals and insects. Carbohydrates are considered key carbon sources for the gut microbiota, imposing strong selective pressure on the complex ...

Production of chitinolytic enzymes with Trichoderma longibrachiatum IMI 92027 in solid substrate fermentation

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2004
Thirty Trichoderma strains representing 15 species within the genus have been screened for extracellular production of chitinolytic enzymes in solid substrate fermentation (SSF). T. longibrachiatum IMI 92027 (=ATCC 36838) gave the highest yield (5.0 IU/g

An Integrated Assessment of European Soil Health and Restoration Potential

open access: yesJournal of Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Soils host a significant proportion of biodiversity on Earth providing ecosystem functions vital to human well‐being, making it imperative to include them and their ecological features when addressing sustainability goals. We performed a comprehensive assessment of soil health across Europe by explicitly integrating biotic and abiotic ...

Molecular analysis of the early interaction between the grapevine flower and Botrytis cinerea reveals that prompt activation of specific host pathways leads to fungus quiescence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Grape quality and yield can be impaired by bunch rot, caused by the necrotrophic fungus Botrytis cinerea. Infection often occurs at flowering, and the pathogen stays quiescent until fruit maturity.

Transcriptomic analysis reveals the hepatic response mechanisms of the Chinese spiny frog (Quasipaa spinosa) to Citrobacter freundii infection

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 57, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract To elucidate the pathogen and host response mechanisms underlying mass mortality in Quasipaa spinosa, dominant bacteria were isolated from diseased individuals and identified as Citrobacter freundii by morphological, physiological, and biochemical characterization, 16S rRNA sequencing, and phylogenetic analysis.
