Modelo iterativo para estimativa da evapotranspiração de referência provável Iterative model to estimate probable reference evapotranspiration

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 1995
O presente trabalho teve por objetivo a apresentação de um modelo iterativo para utilização em microcomputadores capaz de estimar valores de evapotranspiracão de referencia em diversos níveis de probabilidade, a partir de uma série de dados.

Randomized Reference Classifier with Gaussian Distribution and Soft Confusion Matrix Applied to the Improving Weak Classifiers

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, an issue of building the RRC model using probability distributions other than beta distribution is addressed. More precisely, in this paper, we propose to build the RRR model using the truncated normal distribution.

Flexible bivariate beta distributions

open access: yesJournal of Multivariate Analysis, 2011
AbstractBivariate beta distributions which can be used to model data sets exhibiting positive or negative correlation are introduced. Properties of these bivariate beta distributions and their applications in Bayesian analysis are discussed. Three methods for parameter estimation are presented.

Vacuolar transport and function of Saccharomyces cerevisiae sterol ester hydrolase Tgl1

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Tgl1, one of yeast sterol ester hydrolases, had been found on the lipid droplets where sterol esters are mainly stored. This study revealed that Tgl1 is transported into the vacuole depending on the ESCRT‐I–III complex, and that it exhibits intra‐vacuolar sterol ester hydrolase activity.

Herd Behaviors in Financial Markets

open access: yes, 2004
We investigate the herd behavior of returns for the yen-dollar exchange rate in the Japanese financial market. It is obtained that the probability distribution $P(R)$ of returns $R$ satisfies the power-law behavior $P(R) \simeq R^{-\beta}$ with the ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Beta Distribution Weighted Fuzzy C-Ordered-Means Clustering

open access: yesJournal of ICT
The fuzzy C-ordered-means clustering (FCOM) is a fuzzy clustering algorithm that enhances robustness and clustering accuracy through the ordered mechanism based on fuzzy C-means (FCM).

A Nested Test for Common Yield Distributions with Applications to U.S. Corn

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, 2013
We propose the use of maximum-entropy techniques to nest and test the functional form of commonly used yield densities. We demonstrate how common parametric yield models can be nested within a maximum-entropy framework and subsequently tested for using ...

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Cross-Correlation in cricket data and RMT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We analyze cross-correlation between runs scored over a time interval in cricket matches of different teams using methods of random matrix theory (RMT).
