Supplementation of Live Yeast, Mannan Oligosaccharide, and Organic Selenium during the Adaptation Phase of Newly Arrived Beef Cattle: Effects on Health Status, Immune Functionality, and Growth Performance

open access: yesAntibiotics, 2021
The effect of a nutraceutical mixture, based on live yeast (LY), mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) and organic selenium (Se) on health status, as well as immune functionality and growth performance in the fattening of newly received beef cattle, was ...

Infecções latentes por Herpesvírus bovino tipo 1 e 5 em búfalos (Bubalus bubalis) provenientes da região sul do Brasil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Infections caused by the bovine herpesvirus type 1 (BoHV-1) have been widely detected in Brazilian cattle, and they are responsible for major economic losses to the cattle industry.

Development of differentiation method for bovine herpesvirus serotypes (BHV-1, BHV-4, BHV-5) using polymerase chain reaction

open access: yesJournal for Veterinary Medicine, Biotechnology and Biosafety, 2022
Infectious pneumoenteritis of cattle is etiologically caused by viruses of different families and species. Bovine herpesvirus type 1 — infectious rhinotracheitis virus — is the main and the most dangerous pathogen transmitted by cattle semen. At the same time, recently, according to European scientists’ data, in addition to this pathogen, other ...

Arsonic Acid Functional Polymers Enable Stabilization of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles in Aqueous Solution

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Arsonic acid containing diblock copolymers are developed to incorporate arsonic acid moieties for surface anchoring to IONPs, along with water soluble PEG blocks to impart colloidal stability in aqueous environments. The resulting polymer‐coated IONPs are evaluated for stability in physiological media and cytocompatibility.

CD335 (NKp46)+ T-Cell Recruitment to the Bovine Upper Respiratory Tract during a Primary Bovine Herpesvirus-1 Infection

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2017
Bovine natural killer (NK) cells were originally defined by the NK activation receptor CD335 [natural killer cell p46-related protein (NKp46)], but following the discovery of NKp46 expression on human T-cells, the definition of conventional bovine NK ...

Reducing Trade‐Offs of Net Zero Carbon Transitions Through Entrepreneurship and Coordinated Innovation: A Spatially Disaggregated Analysis Across Countries and World Regions

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Transition processes towards a sustainable future benefit from historic perspectives, since feasible changes of socio‐technological conditions and processes depend on a holistic assessment of how actors are embedded in existing institutions, routines, and structures. Building on the Income–Population–Affluence–Technology equation and utilizing

A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of the Epidemiology of Bovine Herpesvirus 1 Infection in Dairy Cattle in Ethiopia

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
This systematic review and meta‐analysis summarise the epidemiology of bovine herpesvirus‐1 (BoHV‐1) infection in dairy cattle in Ethiopia. Analysis of 9 studies involving 5078 cattle revealed a high pooled seroprevalence of 46.02%, with higher estimates from c‐ELISA and an increasing temporal trend from 2018 to 2025.

In situ single‐spot Rb/Sr cosmochronology of roedderite in the Ribbeck aubrite (asteroid 2024 BX1)

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 5, Page 768-781, May 2026.
Abstract The mineralogy and textures of several fragments from the Ribbeck aubrite were analyzed using a combination of scanning electron microscopy, electron microprobe analysis, μRaman spectroscopy, and laser ablation inductively coupled reaction cell mass spectrometry (LA‐ICP‐MS/MS).

TAVR in Male Patients With Large Aortic Valve Annuli: A Propensity‐Matched Analysis of Balloon‐Expandable Versus Self‐Expanding Valves

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 107, Issue 5, Page 1506-1513, April 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Trans‐catheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) in patients with large annuli poses procedural difficulties and possible complications. Aims We sought to compare the peri‐procedural and long‐term outcomes of patients with large annuli undergoing TAVR with self‐expanding (SEV) versus balloon‐expandable (BEV) valves.

The Us9 Gene of Bovine Herpesvirus 1 (BHV-1) Effectively Complements a Us9-Null Strain of BHV-5 for Anterograde Transport, Neurovirulence, and Neuroinvasiveness in a Rabbit Model [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2006
ABSTRACTThe alphaherpesvirus envelope protein Us9 is a type II viral membrane protein that is required for anterograde spread of bovine herpesvirus 5 (BHV-5) infection from the olfactory receptor neurons to the brain. In a rabbit seizure model, Us9-deleted BHV-5 failed to invade the central nervous system (CNS) following intranasal infection.
