Development of differentiation method for bovine herpesvirus serotypes (BHV-1, BHV-4, BHV-5) using polymerase chain reaction

open access: yesJournal for Veterinary Medicine, Biotechnology and Biosafety, 2022
Infectious pneumoenteritis of cattle is etiologically caused by viruses of different families and species. Bovine herpesvirus type 1 — infectious rhinotracheitis virus — is the main and the most dangerous pathogen transmitted by cattle semen. At the same time, recently, according to European scientists’ data, in addition to this pathogen, other ...

Arsonic Acid Functional Polymers Enable Stabilization of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles in Aqueous Solution

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 47, Issue 14, 20 July 2026.
Arsonic acid containing diblock copolymers are developed to incorporate arsonic acid moieties for surface anchoring to IONPs, along with water soluble PEG blocks to impart colloidal stability in aqueous environments. The resulting polymer‐coated IONPs are evaluated for stability in physiological media and cytocompatibility.

Detection of Felis catus Gammaherpesvirus 1 in Cats, but not Dogs, in Türkiye: Prevalence and Risk Factors

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
The current study was carried out to determine prevalence of Felis catus gammaherpesvirus 1 (FcaGHV1) in Turkish domestic cats and dogs and to investigate potential risk factors that are associated with the detection of FcaGHV1. FcaGHV1‐specific DNA was detected in 4 (7.4%, 95% confidence interval 0.4–14.4) of the 54 feline blood samples by TaqMan real‐

Stage‐Dependent Transcriptional Reprogramming of B‐Cell Receptor Signaling and Antigen Presentation During Bovine Leukemia Virus–Driven Lymphomagenesis

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 57, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Bovine leukemia virus (BLV), an oncogenic deltaretrovirus, establishes lifelong infection in cattle and induces enzootic bovine leukosis in a subset of animals following prolonged latency. Despite extensive evidence of immune dysregulation, stage‐specific transcriptional reprogramming of B cells, the primary viral reservoir remains ...

Kv7 and K2P Potassium Channels in Thalamocortical Function and Their Therapeutic Potential in Childhood Absence Epilepsy

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 359, Issue 6, June 2026.
Modulation of K2P and Kv7 channels has the potential to reduce hyperexcitability and hypersynchronicity within the thalamocortical system. This offers a new avenue to suppress spike and wave discharges, the electrophysiological hallmark of absence epilepsy.

A phase Ib dose-escalation study of troriluzole (BHV-4157), an oral glutamatergic signaling modulator, in combination with nivolumab in patients with advanced solid tumors

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medical Research, 2022
Background Glutamate signaling activates MAPK and PI3K/AKT pathways in tumor cells. Treatment with riluzole, a glutamate release inhibitor, has been previously shown to be safe in melanoma patients and produced biologic effects, but did not lead to ...
