Microbiota Signatures in Early Life and Their Association With Food Allergy: A Systematic Review
ABSTRACT Food allergy (FA) is increasing worldwide, and early life may be a critical window for immune training. We systematically reviewed observational human studies linking early‐life microbiota (infant, maternal, environmental, or extraintestinal) profiled using culture‐based and/or culture‐independent methods (including sequencing‐based approaches)

We assessed whether the maternal perinatal gut microbiome and serum SCFA and cord blood SCFA differ between traditional farming and urban dyads. Women following a farming lifestyle had increased microbial diversity, several differentially abundant bacterial species and functional pathways, and increased circulating SCFA. Overall maternal gut microbiome

This study examined whether antibiotic use altered the risk of infant allergic disease within a maternal prebiotics supplementation trial. Intrapartum antibiotics were maternal antibiotics administered during childbirth, from the onset of labour or induction until 1‐h before delivery.

Association of Elevated C‐Reactive Protein in Term Newborns With Neonatal Factors and Gut Microbiota
ABSTRACT Aim Plasma C‐reactive protein (CRP) is widely used to assess neonatal infection, although mild, unexplained elevations are common in healthy newborns. We examined relationships between non‐infectious CRP levels and neonatal factors, and early gut microbiota composition in term infants.

Review Article: The Impact of the Gut Microbiome on Ulcerative Colitis Pharmacotherapy
The gut microbiome modulates ulcerative colitis pharmacotherapy through microbial drug metabolism, immune regulation and altered drug bioavailability. Microbial composition influences response to aminosalicylates, corticosteroids, immunomodulators, biologics and small molecules, while microbiome‐targeted therapies show emerging promise.
