ABCB4 mediates diet-induced hypercholesterolemia in laboratory opossums[S]
High-responding opossums are susceptible to developing hypercholesterolemia on a high-cholesterol diet, but low-responding opossums are resistant. The observation of low biliary cholesterol and low biliary phospholipids in high responders suggested that ...

Identification of unconjugated bile acids in human bile.
Unconjugated bile acids in the bile of healthy and diseased humans were determined qualitatively and quantitatively by means of gas-liquid chromatography and gas-liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, after their isolation by ion-exchange chromatography. In a healthy person and three patients with cholelithiasis, unconjugated bile acids comprised 0.1-

Intersection of two quadrics with no common hyperplane in $\mathbb{P}^{n}(\mathbb{F}_q)$}} [PDF]
Let $\mathcal{Q}_1$ and $\mathcal{Q}_2$ be two arbitrary quadrics with no common hyperplane in ${\mathbb{P}}^n(\mathbb{F}_q)$. We give the best upper bound for the number of points in the intersection of these two quadrics. Our result states that $| \mathcal{Q}_1\cap \mathcal{Q}_2|\le 4q^{n-2}+\pi_{n-3}$.

Purine nucleoside phosphorylase: A new marker for free oxygen radical injury to the endothelial cell [PDF]
The effect of ischemia and reperfusion on purine nucleoside phosphorylase was studied in an isolated perfused rat liver model. This enzyme is localized primarily in the cytoplasm of the endothelial and Kupffer cells; some activity is associated with the ...
