The syntaxin‐1 Habc‐domain (orange), linker (pink) and SNARE motif (yellow) form a closed conformation that binds to Munc18‐1 (violet) and is opened by the Munc13‐1 MUN domain (cyan) to form the SNARE complex that triggers neurotransmitter release.

Coalescing compact binaries with neutron star or black hole components provide the most promising sources of gravitational radiation for detection by the LIGO/VIRGO/GEO/TAMA laser interferometers now under construction. This fact has motivated several different theoretical studies of the inspiral and hydrodynamic merging of compact binaries.

New periodic variable stars coincident with ROSAT sources discovered using SuperWASP [PDF]

We present optical lightcurves of 428 periodic variable stars coincident with ROSAT X-ray sources, detected using the first run of the SuperWASP photometric survey. Only 68 of these were previously recognised as periodic variables.

TIC 290061484: A Triply Eclipsing Triple System with the Shortest Known Outer Period of 24.5 Days

The Astrophysical Journal
We have discovered a triply eclipsing triple-star system, TIC 290061484, with the shortest known outer period, P _out , of only 24.5 days. This “eclipses” the previous record set by λ Tauri at 33.02 days, which held for 68 yr.

The C‐terminal truncated splicing variant of NK1R negatively modulates substance P‐stimulated NK1R signaling
