Niobium uptake and release by bacterial ferric ion binding protein [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Ferric ion binding proteins (Fbps) transport FeIII across the periplasm and are vital for the virulence of many Gram negative bacteria. Iron(III) is tightly bound in a hinged binding cleft with octahedral coordination geometry involving binding to ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The hepta-β-glucoside elicitor-binding proteins from legumes represent a putative receptor family [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The ability of legumes to recognize and respond to β-glucan elicitors by synthesizing phytoalexins is consistent with the existence of a membrane-bound β-glucan-binding site.

RNA-binding-defective mutant of LGP2 RD abolishes RNA binding, but can still interact with NS5.

open access: yes, 2023
(A) EMSA analysis of LGP2 RD WT (WT) or its mutant (Mutant) binding to RNA. WT and Mutant were tested at 6, 18, 30 μM concentrations. (B) Detection of NS5-LGP2 binding.

Cholinium-Based Ionic Liquids Modulate Protein Stability: A Comparative Study of Enzymes and Albumins

open access: yesMolecules
This work aims to assess the intermolecular interaction of choline ionic liquids (ILs) (choline malonate ([Ch][Mal]), choline succinate ([Ch][Suc]), and choline valinate ([Ch][Val]) with two enzymes (lysozyme and α-chymotrypsin).

Investigating ideomotor cognition with motorvisual priming paradigms: Key findings, methodological challenges, and future directions

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2012
Ideomotor theory claims that perceptual representations of action effects are functionally involved in the planning of actions. Strong evidence for this claim comes from a phenomenon called motorvisual priming.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

"Algún" indefinite is not bound by adverbs of quantification

open access: yesIsogloss, 2021
Some indefinites cannot be bound by adverbs of quantification or the generic operator. I argue that this datum follows from the internal syntax of indefinites: only those indefinites consisting of a minimal structure can be bound, bigger indefinites ...

Rac1 S71 Mediates the Interaction between Rac1 and 14-3-3 Proteins

open access: yesCells, 2019
Both 14-3-3 proteins (14-3-3s) and Rho proteins regulate cytoskeleton remodeling and cell migration, which suggests a possible interaction between the signaling pathways regulated by these two groups of proteins.
