Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Surgical treatment of local recurrence after radical prostatectomy: Robot-assisted surgical approach combined with three-dimensional virtual reconstruction

open access: yesUrology Case Reports
The treatment of local recurrence after radical prostatectomy and salvage pelvic irradiation, has no consensus in the literature. A surgical approach is possible, the main benefit of which is delaying an androgen blockade. We present a patient who evolved

Effect of positive surgical margins on biochemical failure, biochemical recurrence-free survival, and overall survival after radical prostatectomy: Median long-term results

open access: yesKaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, 2014
The aim of this study was to investigate the median long-term effects of positive surgical margin (PSM) and other prognostic factors on biochemical recurrence-free survival, overall survival, and biochemical failure in patients who underwent radical ...

The Effect of Tumor-Prostate Ratio on Biochemical Recurrence after Radical Prostatectomy [PDF]

open access: yesThe World Journal of Men's Health, 2016
Purpose: Prostate tumor volume calculated after surgery using pathologic tissue has been shown to be an independent risk factor for biochemical recurrence.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Detection Efficacy of 18F-PSMA-1007 PET/CT in 251 Patients with Biochemical Recurrence of Prostate Cancer After Radical Prostatectomy

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Medicine, 2018
Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)–targeted PET imaging recently emerged as a new method for the staging and restaging of prostate cancer. Most published studies investigated the diagnostic potential of 68Ga-labeled PSMA agents that are excreted ...

Predictive factors of late biochemical recurrence after radical prostatectomy [PDF]

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2016
To assess the characteristics of biochemical recurrence in the late period (>5 years after radical prostatectomy) and the differences in the predictors of biochemical recurrence in different periods, we conducted a multicenter retrospective study. We reviewed 478 men who underwent radical prostatectomy for clinically localized prostate cancer.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

18F-rhPSMA-7 PET for the Detection of Biochemical Recurrence of Prostate Cancer After Radical Prostatectomy

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Medicine, 2019
18F-labeled prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET tracers are increasingly used in preference to 68Ga-PSMA-11 for restaging biochemical recurrence (BCR) of prostate cancer.
