Bioguided fractionation and isolation of natural inhibitors of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) from Calophyllum flavoramulum

Phytochemistry, 2012
Advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) are associated with many pathogenic disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, pathogenesis of diabetes, atherosclerosis or endothelial dysfunction leading to cardiovascular events. Clusiaceae and Calophyllaceae families are rich in compounds like polyphenols which are able to inhibit their formation and are therefore

Bioguided isolation of an antioxidant compound from Combretum racemosum P.Beav leaf

2015
Free radicals are known to cause damage to the body cells leading to many diseases. These cells can be protected from such deleterious effects by antioxidants; therefore, plant derived antioxidants are of global interest. Combretum racemosum have been used traditionally in the treatment of ulcers, cancers and infections.

Bioguided isolation of pentacyclic triterpenes from the leaves of Alstonia scholaris (Linn.) R. Br. growing in Egypt

Natural Product Research, 2011
Ethanolic and aqueous extracts of the leaves and flowers of Alstonia scholaris were evaluated for their antioxidant activity by investigating their effect on blood glutathione levels in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. The ethanolic extract of the leaves was the most active; therefore, its cytotoxicity against HepG2 cells was also tested.

Bioguided isolation of anti-inflammatory and anti-urolithiatic active compounds from the decoction of Cissus gongylodes leaves

Journal of Ethnopharmacology
The Cissus gongylodes has traditionally been used in the diet of indigenous people in Brazil and in traditional medicine for kidney stone removal and inflammatory diseases. The active compounds responsible for these pharmacological activities are unknown. This study aims to isolate, for the first time, the compounds in the decoction of C.
