Abstract The phytotoxic activity of celery ( Apium graveolens L.) was tested on germination and seedling growth of Lactuca sativa (lettuce). Bioactive compounds were isolated and identified by spectral data. Methanol extract of celery aerial part showed a significant phytotoxic effect on lettuce.
