Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Detección inmunoenzimática de la toxina de la bacteria Clostridium tetani: una alternativa a las pruebas biológicas con ratones

open access: yesRevista de Biología Tropical, 2006
Immunoenzimatic detection of the Clostridium tetani bacterial toxin: an alternative to mice bioassays. Cell-free extracts from 20 strains of Clostridium tetani isolated from soil samples, were tested for tetanus toxin production using an enzyme ...

Biological Assay of Thyroprotein

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1962
Summary A new method for the biological assay of thyroidal substances based upon the determination of the thyroxine secretion rate (TSR) of rats is suggested. The mean TSR of a group of rats is first determined by thyroxine replacement. Thyroprotein is then injected subcutaneously in amount sufficient to block thyroidal-I 131 release in the ...

Renormalization of radiobiological response functions by energy loss fluctuations and complexities in chromosome aberration induction: deactivation theory for proton therapy from cells to tumor control

open access: yes, 2019
We employ a multi-scale mechanistic approach to investigate radiation induced cell toxicities and deactivation mechanisms as a function of linear energy transfer in hadron therapy.

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.
