Psychogenic polydipsia in dogs – a review of pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment

open access: yesJournal of Small Animal Practice, EarlyView.
Polyuria and polydipsia represent a common clinical presentation in dogs and may result from numerous disorders affecting different body systems. Compulsive water consumption is characteristic of psychogenic polydipsia, a primary polydipsia disorder rooted in neurologic, behavioural or environmental factors.

Links between trauma and psychotic symptoms: Integrating cognitive behavioural and neuropsychoanalytic models of psychosis

open access: yesPsychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Cognitive‐behavioural therapy for psychosis (CBTp) achieves small to modest effect sizes, which invites the question, ‘What clinical modifications might improve outcomes?’ This paper proposes an integration of CBTp with a neuropsychoanalytic approach that in clinical practice might extend the gains achieved by CBTp alone.

Immune dysregulation in mania: A proof‐of‐concept platelet proteomics study

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, EarlyView.
Aims Bipolar disorder (BD) is a major psychiatric condition with a multifaceted and largely unknown pathophysiology. Mania, the defining feature of BD, remains underinvestigated. Proteomics offers a powerful, data‐driven, unbiased approach to uncover biological alterations.

Membrane potential of bipolar membranes

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1996
Abstract The membrane potential of a bipolar membrane composed of a cation-exchange layer in series with an anion-exchange layer is analyzed theoretically and experimentally. The theoretical approach is based on an extension of the Nernst-Planck equations of monopolar charged membranes to the case of the two ion-exchange layers in series and the ...

Transparent Bipolar Membrane for Water Splitting Applications

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2017
This study describes the use of a benzimidazolium-based anion exchange membrane for creating bipolar membranes and the assessment of their suitability for solar-driven water splitting. Bipolar membranes were prepared by laminating anion exchange membrane with Nafion NR-211 membrane without modification of the interface.

Preparation of bipolar membranes. II

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2001
AbstractThe bipolar multilayer membrane was prepared by a new technique. The interfacial layer and cation layer were formed by only one step. The anion and cation layers were made from the same material from which chloromethylated polysulfone was used as a basic material.
