We developed a 3D‐printed nerve interface integrating a biomimetic nanocomposite hydrogel with sustained delivery of thermostable FGF‐2. The bioactive interface supports Schwann cell activity and myelination while providing a regenerative microenvironment.

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

ABSTRACT Thyroid carcinoma ranks as the seventh most common malignancy globally by incidence, though its mortality remains relatively low. We present a rare case of papillary thyroid carcinoma in a 32‐year‐old male, with supraglottic extension of the right thyroid lobe, managed successfully using a robotic‐assisted bilateral axillo‐breast approach ...

Silicon carbide detectors are monolithically integrated into order‐sorting apertures and center stops for in situ soft X‐ray beam diagnostics in STXM. Functionalized components enable simultaneous monitoring of incident beam intensity and the transverse position at sample‐relevant locations without degrading optical performance.Reliable monitoring of ...

Abstract Objective Medical devices are reviewed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for safety and effectiveness. Class II devices can receive 510(k) clearance if they are “substantially equivalent” to an existing predicate device. This process can be repeated iteratively, leading to a lineage of predicates for newly cleared devices.

ABSTRACT Background Erectile dysfunction (ED) secondary to cavernous nerve injury (CNI), such as that occurring after radical prostatectomy, remains a significant clinical challenge, particularly among patients who do not respond to phosphodiesterase Type 5 inhibitors (PDE5i).

Membrane potential of bipolar membranes
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1996Abstract The membrane potential of a bipolar membrane composed of a cation-exchange layer in series with an anion-exchange layer is analyzed theoretically and experimentally. The theoretical approach is based on an extension of the Nernst-Planck equations of monopolar charged membranes to the case of the two ion-exchange layers in series and the ...

Tailoring the interface layer of the bipolar membrane [PDF]
This work investigates various parameters affecting the water splitting of bipolar ion-exchange membranes. We show that the amount of functional groups and the water content of the interface layer have a strong influence on the bipolar membrane ...
