Marginal Adaptation of BIS-GMA-based Composites Containing Various Diluents

Journal of Dental Research, 1981
Marginal leakage is a result of inadequate marginal seal. Curing shrinkage of the resin is a major contributor to breaking the margin seal. The chemical structure and concentration of the diluent in the resin formulation affects curing shrinkage and marginal adaptation of composite restorations.

Mechanical properties of BIS‐GMA resin short glass fiber composites

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1989
AbstractThe use of short glass fibers as a filler for dental restorations or cement resins have not been examined extensively. The mechanical properties and untreated glass fibers (5 μm dia × 25 μm) in Bis‐phenol A glycidyl methacrylate (BIS‐GMA) diluted with triethylene‐glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) resin were investigated for possible use as a ...

Farklı Kompozit Dolguların BIS-GMA Salınımlarının İncelenmesi

2021
ÖZETAmaç: Kompozit malzemelerin sıklıkla yapısında yer alan BIS-GMA, polimerizasyondan sonra reaksiyona girmeden kalabilmektedir. Artık monomerlerin bilinen zararlı etkileri nedeniyle, dental malzemelerden salınan monomer miktarlarının belirlenmesi çok önemlidir.

Evaluation of a phosphonate BIS-GMA resin as a bracket adhesive.

Quintessence international (Berlin, Germany : 1985), 1992
Panavia is a modified phosphate ester of dimethacrylate that purportedly forms a strong bond to tooth structure and to metals. The ability of this adhesive to bond orthodontic brackets to enamel was compared to the bond strengths of a no-mix bracket adhesive and a paste/paste autopolymerizing composite resin.

[Clinical studies on fissure sealants of the Bis-GMA type].

Deutsche zahnarztliche Zeitschrift, 1976
In this study the effects of two fissure sealants were tested clinically, 50 teeth were sealed with Nuva Seal and 54 teeth with Epoxy-Lite 9075. Follow-ups were performed over a period of 15 months. In chi2 tests, a highly significant reduction in caries or restriction of caries was found in the sealed teeth as compared to the teeth of the control ...

Performances evaluation of a Bis-GMA resin-based composite for dental restoration

2012
The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the mechanical properties of a commercial Bis-GMA resin loaded with filler particles including Ba-Al-F-silicate glass (size 0.02-2.00 μm) and dispersed colloidal silica (size 0.02 to 0.07 μm). The study was conducted through the preparation of samples with thickness of 1.5 mm, length of 25 mm and width of ...
