Incidence of Rapid Rate Non‐Sustained and Sustained Ventricular Tachycardia in Implantable Cardioverter‐Defibrillator Recipients and Its Correlation With Heart Failure Guideline‐Directed Medical Therapy Compliance

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 4, August 2025.
Among heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) patients with ICD implants, over one‐third experienced rapid rate NSVT events despite guideline‐directed medical therapy (GDMT) compliance; however, sustained VT occurrence was significantly reduced with compliance—a study highlighting the protective impact of GDMT against life threatening ...

Synaptic Targets and Cellular Sources of CB1 Cannabinoid Receptor and Vesicular Glutamate Transporter‐3 Expressing Nerve Terminals in Relation to GABAergic Neurons in the Human Cerebral Cortex

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 61, Issue 1, January 2025.
In the human cerebral cortex, GABAergic boutons originating from diverse presynaptic cell types, some expressing CB1 cannabinoid receptor, make synapses mainly with dendritic shafts and spines. One quarter of GABAergic CB1 immunopositive nerve terminals also expresses the type 3 vesicular glutamate transporter (VGLUT3).

Buspirone Hydrochloride Polymorphism: Stability, Solubility, Flow Properties, and Manufacturing Implications

open access: yesAdvances in Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Buspirone hydrochloride, an anxiolytic agent, has two interconvertible polymorphic forms that may affect its physicochemical properties and therapeutic efficacy. Despite this relevance, polymorphism is often neglected in pharmaceutical analyses, potentially leading to inconsistent results and compromised drug performance.

Analysis of related substances in bisoprolol fumarate on sub-2-μm adsorbents

open access: yesActa Chromatographica, 2012
Summary The new analytical method of very high pressure liquid chromatography (VHPLC) has been designed for the estimation of related substances in bisoprolol fumarate. Several columns filled with sub-2-μm totally porous and shell adsorbent have been tested and compared during the method development. The columns' resolution was investigated.

Tools for clinical pharmacists to identify medications that can cause drug‐induced cognitive impairment: A systematic review

open access: yesJACCP: JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CLINICAL PHARMACY, Volume 7, Issue 12, Page 1207-1227, December 2024.
Abstract Cognitive impairment affects around 19% of community‐dwelling older adults in the United States. Pharmacists can play a significant role in identifying and deprescribing cognitive‐impairing medications through cognitive‐focused medication reviews or as part of comprehensive medication management.

Transdermal bisoprolol for prevention of postoperative atrial fibrillation: A systematic review and meta‐analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJ Arrhythm
Transdermal bisoprolol effectively reduces postoperative atrial fibrillation, potentially outperforming oral formulations. Abstract Background The transdermal patch of bisoprolol available in Japan has been reported to demonstrate superior efficacy in preventing postoperative atrial fibrillation, possibly surpassing its oral counterpart. However, there

Hydrodissection for pericardial adhesion in percutaneous epicardial ventricular tachycardia ablation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 40, Issue 6, Page 1514-1518, December 2024.
Epicardial ablation in patients with pericardial adhesions is challenging. This case is the first report of successful epicardial ventricular tachycardia ablation by combining hydrodissection with the previously reported blunt dissection techniques for pericardial adhesions.
