The sensitivity of bit error rate (BER) performance in multi-carrier (OFDM) and single-carrier

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
Recently, the single-carrier and multi-carrier transmissions have grabbed the attention of industrial systems. Theoretically, OFDM as a Multicarrier has more advantages over the Single-Carrier especially for high data rate. In this paper we will show which one of the two techniques outperforms the other.

The Use of Reverberating Chambers to Influence the BER (Bit Error Rate) in Simulating Multipath Connections

EMC Europe 2006 Barcelona, International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2006
Telecommunication Systems currently in operation make use of multiple connection in order to enhance the service reliability and to reduce electromagnetic field levels. Connection is handled by coded signals, in often unstable multipath condition, and, in some case, by smart and/or multitasking antennas.

Bit Error Rate (BER) Performance Enhancement for Wireless Communication System Using Modified Turbo Codes

2017
In wireless communication, turbo and modified turbo codes are used as forward error correction (FEC) codes to improve the performance of the system in terms of bit error rate (BER). This work revisits the FEC using conventional turbo codes and proposes few modifications in them to obtain modified turbo codes.

Bit Error Rate (BER) improvement of Multiple Input Multiple Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system using bit level scrambling

2015 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON), 2015
The work in the field of wireless communication these days is directed towards the efficient usage of the available spectrum as the spectrum scarcity keeps haunting people in general and communication engineers in particular. This puts an upper limit on the development of new spectrum hungry applications.

Raw bit error rate (BER) measurements of a fully populated optical code division multiple access (CDMA) system

Proceedings of LEOS'94, 2002
Optical CDMA is one of the few multiple access concepts which permit concurrent, non-blocking virtual channels. However, conventional approaches with linear codes induce stringent device requirements which stem from the bandwidth inefficiency, also denoted as the time penalty, of CDMA.

Bit Error Rate (BER) performance analysis of an optical fiber communication system with a Multi-core fiber (MCF)

2015 International Conference on Electrical & Electronic Engineering (ICEEE), 2015
An analytical approach is presented to evaluate the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of a multicore fiber (MCF) communication system with On-Off Keying (OOK) modulation scheme. The expressions of the signal power at the output of the different cores of the MCF with excitation to any one of the cores is found out along with the crosstalk due to coupling

New closed form expressions for the bit error rate (BER) Of MC-CDMA systems in generalized Nakagami-m fading channels

Proceedings of the Twenty-First National Radio Science Conference, 2004. NRSC 2004., 2004
New closed form expressions for the average error rate of MC-CDMA systems in Nakagami-m fading channels are derived based on the exponential approximation of the Q-function. Numerical results by substituting in these expressions are presented and compared to results provided by other researchers using computer simulations or numerical integrations ...
