N-type Black Silicon Solar Cells
AbstractBlack silicon is an interesting surface texture for solar cells because of its extremely low reflectance on a wide wavelength range and acceptance angle. In this paper we present how black silicon (b-Si) texturization can be applied on the boron doped front surface of an n-type solar cell resulting in an efficiency of 18.7%.

Wideband ‘black silicon’ for mid-infrared applications [PDF]
In this paper, we investigate the absorption of mid-infrared light by low resistivity silicon textured via deep reactive ion etching. An analytical description of the wave propagation in black silicon texture is presented, showing agreement with the experiment and the computational analysis.

Silicon Reduces Black Sigatoka Development in Banana [PDF]
The effect of silicon (Si) uptake on the susceptibility of Musa acuminata to Mycosphaerella fijiensis was investigated in three experiments conducted under controlled conditions. Plants were grown in the presence of Si or not, in pots adapted for a hydroponic culture system or in pots filled with compost. The banana leaves were inoculated after 4 or 6

Optical properties and growth mechanism of rock-like structured black silicon
In this study, rock-like black silicon is prepared by using plasma enhanced hot-wire chemical vapor deposition (PE-HWCVD). The average grain sizes of polysilicon for 10-min, 20-min and 40-min growth time was about 12.4, 14.3 and 15.5 nm, respectively. As
