BER-based BLER prediction for LTE FDD DL channel with small delay dispersion
2015 International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC), 2015In this paper, we derive a prediction model for the block error rate (BLER) of an AWGN channel as a function of (known) bit error rate (BER) for transmission over small-delay-dispersion channels, such as indoor, where cyclic prefix protection mechanism reliably prevents inter-symbol interference due to multipath.

This paper proposes a downlink resource scheduling technique for maximized throughput with reduced Block Error Ratio and improved fairness among different users across the cellular region. Resources are allocated to users on the basis of Channel Quality Indicator feedback values in a way that the data rates are increased without compromising on Block ...

A Controlling Retransmission Size H-ARQ Scheme by BLER based on Results of CRC Decoding
2007 IEEE 18th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2007To achieve a high throughput performance constantly, a H-ARQ (hybrid-automatic repeat request) scheme which controls the retransmission size is important. RB-HARQ (reliability-based HARQ) has been proposed as the control scheme of the retransmission size. However, in RB-HARQ, simulations must be needed beforehand and a receiver must memorize results of

On Improving the BLER for ML Receivers in Block Faded Channels through Random Phase Rotation
2017 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2017In this work, we apply the idea of random phase rotation of the modulated symbols to a system with interfering transmitters and a Maximum-likelihood (ML) receiver. Expressions for Bit Error Rate (BER) for a given channel realization and the average Block Error Rate (BLER) for an error correcting code are derived for the Hard-Decision based ML receiver (
