BLER performance evaluation of an enhanced channel autoencoder
Computer Communications, 2021Abstract The concept of using autoencoders (AEs) to represent wireless communication systems as an end-to-end reconstruction task that optimizes the transmitter and receiver components simultaneously in a single process has attracted the attention of wireless practitioners worldwide.

Performance analysis of varying the link adaptation BLER switching point in EGPRS
12th IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications. PIMRC 2001. Proceedings (Cat. No.01TH8598), 2002This paper examines the impact of the choice of the link adaptation BLER switching point on the performance of Enhanced General Packet Radio Service (EGPRS) Phase I, with the aim of determining the optimum switching point. The analysis is carried out by considering outputs from a system level simulator and a system dimensioning and planning tool ...

BLER and spectral efficiency performances of a two-way relay channel scheme
2014 10th International Conference on Communications (COMM), 2014This paper analyzes the block error rate and spectral efficiency performances of an Enhanced Two-Way Relay Channel (2wRCE) scheme over block Rayleigh-faded channels in a generic cellular environment. It presents the derivation of the theoretical expressions of the Block Error Rate (BLER) and spectral efficiency provided by the studied scheme, using an ...

BLER Performance of Circular 256QAM Schemes Considering Cubic Metric for DFT-Precoded OFDM
2021 IEEE VTS 17th Asia Pacific Wireless Communications Symposium (APWCS), 2021This paper presents the average block error rate (BLER) performance of circular 256QAM schemes considering a peak-to-average power ratio measure called a cubic metric (CM) for discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-precoded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in multipath fading channels.

Computer Implementation of an Improved Kutzbach-Gru¨bler Mobility Criterion
Volume 2: 28th Design Automation Conference, 2002Recent results have shown that the application of group theory to the Euclidean group, E(3), and its subgroups yields a new and improved mobility criterion. Unlike the well known Kutzbach-Gru¨bler criterion, this improved mobility criterion yields correct results for both trivial and exceptional linkages. Unfortunately, this improved mobility criterion

Average Achievable Rate and Average BLER Analyses for MIMO Short-Packet Communication Systems
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2021Multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems significantly increase the network throughput and coverage probability for short-packet communications. In this paper, a tight lower bound on the average achievable rate of MIMO short-packet communication systems is theoretically derived, considering flat uncorrelated Rayleigh fading MIMO channels.

BLER Performance of Windowed-OFDM Using Faster-than-Nyquist Signaling with 16QAM
2018 21st International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC), 2018This paper presents the average block error rate (BLER) performance of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) using faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) signaling with 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) in a multipath fading channel. In this paper, we use OFDM without a subcarrier-level pulse shaping filter but with windowing to prioritize time ...

Logistic regression for BLER prediction in 5G
2020In this work, a block error rate (BLER) predictor for 5G based on logistic regression is presented. The regression is fed with transmission parameters and channel statistics. With these features, the predictor can model the behaviour of the transmission chain, including the low parity channel code (LDPC).
