LBlock: A Lightweight Block Cipher [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, we propose a new lightweight block cipher called LBlock. Similar to many other lightweight block ciphers, the block size of LBlock is 64-bit and the key size is 80-bit. Our security evaluation shows that LBlock can achieve enough security margin against known attacks, such as differential cryptanalysis, linear cryptanalysis, impossible ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Improved search models of boomerang distinguishers and application to LILLIPUT

open access: yesCybersecurity
Boomerang attack serves as a potent cryptanalytic tool for assessing the security of block ciphers. Over the past few years, various automatic search models for boomerang distinguishers have been proposed for block ciphers with different structures. This

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Experimental performance analysis of lightweight block ciphers and message authentication codes for wireless sensor networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2017
Wireless sensor networks are widely used in many mission critical applications such as environment monitoring, military monitoring, and healthcare. The highly sensitive nature of collected information and various potential security threats make security ...

Statistical cryptanalysis of block ciphers

open access: yes, 2005
Since the development of cryptology in the industrial and academic worlds in the seventies, public knowledge and expertise have grown in a tremendous way, notably because of the increasing, nowadays almost ubiquitous, presence of electronic communication

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Cryptographic Randomness Testing of Block Ciphers: SAC Tests

open access: yesIEEE Access
Block ciphers are designed to function as random mappings, making it essential for them to successfully pass statistical randomness tests. These tests evaluate whether the distribution of a test statistic, derived empirically through various data ...
