Efficient V-B block designs for CDC method 4

open access: yes, 2013
Some optimal incomplete block designs for complete diallel cross method 4 are known in literature. These designs require several replications for each cross and thus consume more resources such as experimental units, experimental material, time etc.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Mixed‐class J‐domain protein scaffolds promote expanded aggregate handling and multivalent Hsp70 engagement during functional disaggregase assembly

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

Efficiency of blocking two-stage model-robust and model-sensitive designs. [PDF]

open access: yes
In two-stage experimentation, it is recommended that a block effect is included in the model to capture a possible shift in the mean response between the stages.

Cyclic Polygonal Designs with Block size 3 and Joint Distance 3 [PDF]

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Commerce and Social Sciences, 2011
polygons, are useful in survey sampling in terms of balanced sampling plans excluding contiguous units (BSECs) and balanced sampling plans excluding adjacent units (BSAs) when neighboring units in a population provide similar information.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

The optimal design of an experiment with blocks of size two for quadratic regression on one variable. [PDF]

open access: yes
Exact D-optimal designs are derived for an optometry experiment for the estimation of a quadratic polynomial in one explanatory variable. Two observations are made for each subject participating in the experiment, such that each subject serves as a block

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Incomplete split-plots in variety trials - based on a-designs

open access: yes, 2003
Incomplete split-plots based on a-designs are proposed as alternative to traditional split-plot designs. The purpose of the incomplete split-plot designs is to increase the efficiency of the treatment (whole plot factor) comparisons especially for ...

Group Divisible Designs with Two Associate Classes and 𝜆2=1

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2011
The original classiffcation of PBIBDs defined group divisible designs GDD(𝑣=𝑣1+𝑣2+⋯+𝑣𝑔,𝑔,𝑘,𝜆1,𝜆2) with 𝜆1≠0. In this paper, we prove that the necessary conditions are suffcient for the existence of the group divisible designs with two groups of unequal ...
