Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

An Error Tolerated Congestion Control Algorithm Based on Packet Loss Rate Measurement in Deep Space Communication Network

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2015
Congestion control algorithms of TCP protocol previously used in space communications are mostly based on TCP Vegas algorithm. They always require accurately measurement of RTT,but it's very difficult to achieve in deep space communication networks which ...

Waveform Design for Dual-Function Radar-Communication System With Golay Block Coding

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In view of the defects that high range side lobes and high peak-to-average power radio (PAPR) in radar and communication integrated systems based on traditional orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), a co-designed OFDM waveform based on Golay

A Janus compatible software-defined underwater acoustic multiple-input multiple-output modem

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2021
This article describes the implementation of a multiple-input multiple-output acoustic communication link in shallow water conditions to enable a software-defined acoustic modem with a maximum transmission rate of 20 kbps in a 5-kHz bandwidth.

LDPC Codes with Local and Global Decoding

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents a theoretical study of a new type of LDPC codes motivated by practical storage applications. LDPCL codes (suffix L represents locality) are LDPC codes that can be decoded either as usual over the full code block, or locally when a ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Neural network compensation control of magnetic levitation ball position based on fuzzy inference

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Aiming at the problem of poor transient performance of the control system caused by the control uncertainty of the undertrained neural network, a neural network compensation control method based on fuzzy inference is proposed in this paper.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Channel Coding over Multiple Coherence Blocks with Queueing Constraints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper investigates the performance of wireless systems that employ finite-blocklength channel codes for transmission and operate under queueing constraints in the form of limitations on buffer overflow probabilities.
