Block Matching Algorithm Using an Adaptive Matching Block for Object Tracking

open access: yesThe Journal of the Korean Institute of Information and Communication Engineering, 2011
In object tracking using the block mating algorithm, it is not proper to use a fixed matching block to track an object of which size may be various and can be changed at any time. This paper defines an adaptive matching block for the dynamic environment and proposes a block matching algorithm for it.

Meaningful Matches in Stereovision [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper introduces a statistical method to decide whether two blocks in a pair of of images match reliably. The method ensures that the selected block matches are unlikely to have occurred "just by chance." The new approach is based on the definition of a simple but faithful statistical "background model" for image blocks learned from the image ...

KRAS and GNAS mutations in cell‐free DNA and in circulating epithelial cells in patients with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms—an observational pilot study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that KRAS and GNAS mutations are more prevalent in patients with resected intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) compared to those under clinical surveillance. GNAS mutations significantly differ between the two patient cohorts, indicating that their absence may serve as a potential biomarker to support conservative ...

Matching criterion function for block motion estimation:block feature matching function

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1997
The authors present a new block feature matching (BFM) criterion function that can be used for block estimation of H.261, H.263, MPEG1, MPEG2, and HDTV codecs. Simulation indicates that the proposed BFM function is very simple and effective, thus the corresponding complexity of block matching computation and data transfer time are greatly reduced.

Recovery of Block-Sparse Representations from Noisy Observations via Orthogonal Matching Pursuit [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
We study the problem of recovering the sparsity pattern of block-sparse signals from noise-corrupted measurements. A simple, efficient recovery method, namely, a block-version of the orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) method, is considered in this paper and its behavior for recovering the block-sparsity pattern is analyzed.

On‐treatment dynamics of circulating extracellular vesicles in the first‐line setting of patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer: the LEXOVE prospective study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LEXOVE prospective study evaluated plasma cell‐free extracellular vesicle (cfEV) dynamics using Bradford assay and dynamic light scattering in metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer patients undergoing first‐line treatments, correlating a ∆cfEV < 20% with improved median progression‐free survival in responders versus non‐responders.

USING DISPERSION MEASURES FOR DETERMINING BLOCK-SIZE IN-MOTION ESTIMATION

open access: yesDyna, 2012
Las técnicas de compresión de video disminuyen la redundancia temporal entre los fotogramas del video para realizar una compresión eficiente del mismo. Dicha reducción se logra mediante la compensación de movimiento, la cual está basada en la estimación ...

Cellular liquid biopsy provides unique chances for disease monitoring, preclinical model generation and therapy adjustment in rare salivary gland cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...

Targeting rapid TKI‐induced AXL upregulation overcomes adaptive ERK reactivation and exerts antileukemic effects in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptive ERK reactivation hinders FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia. Here, we report that FLT3 TKI treatment rapidly induces AXL expression and upregulation that is temporally associated with the adaptive ERK reactivation.
