Cochlear Strial Blood Circulation

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1991
The present immunohistologic study demonstrates that cochlear strial blood circulation is markedly damaged in guinea pigs subjected to intense acoustic stimulation. In contrast, autonomic unbalance of the inner ear induced by resection or electric stimulation of the superior cervical ganglion has no appreciable effect on cochlear strial blood flow.

Anaesthesia and circulating blood volume

European Journal of Anaesthesiology, 2005
The exact change in circulating blood volume (BV) during general anaesthesia is still unknown because there is no standard method of evaluating BV. We evaluated the changes in BV by general anaesthesia using simple and easy estimation methods.Fourteen patients scheduled for minor surgery under general anaesthesia were enrolled.

Study of postmortem blood circulation

Zeitschrift fr Rechtsmedizin, 1989
The objective of this work was to study the postmortem redistribution of blood volumes and its influence of the distribution of substances of different molecular weight (194.2 and 150,000 Da). Lipiodol Ultrafluide, Omnitrast, or a radioisotopic mixture of aminohippuric acid and human IgG were injected into the left ventricle of a total of 20 rabbits ...

Blood Platelets and Extracorporeal Circulation*

Transfusion, 1963
Platelet adhesiveness has been studied in patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass. Conventional doses of heparin do not alter platelet adhesiveness. With the onset of perfusion, however, there is a precipitous fall in platelet count and in the adhesiveness of those platelets remaining.
