Study of postmortem blood circulation
Zeitschrift fr Rechtsmedizin, 1989The objective of this work was to study the postmortem redistribution of blood volumes and its influence of the distribution of substances of different molecular weight (194.2 and 150,000 Da). Lipiodol Ultrafluide, Omnitrast, or a radioisotopic mixture of aminohippuric acid and human IgG were injected into the left ventricle of a total of 20 rabbits ...

Cell-free DNA in blood circulation is generated by DNase1L3 and caspase-activated DNase.
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications - BBRC, 2019Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) (e.g. fetal- or tumor-derived DNA) is DNA found in the blood circulation. It is now widely investigated as a biomarker for prenatal screening, tumor diagnosis, and tumor monitoring as "liquid biopsies".

Optical Flowmeter Sensor for Blood Circulators
2009This work describes the design and realization of a new low-cost instrument for real time measurement of blood flow, especially developed for dialysis machine monitoring. The instrument is realized by means of a self-mixing interferometer and a dedicated data elaboration system.

Blood Platelets and Extracorporeal Circulation*
Transfusion, 1963Platelet adhesiveness has been studied in patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass. Conventional doses of heparin do not alter platelet adhesiveness. With the onset of perfusion, however, there is a precipitous fall in platelet count and in the adhesiveness of those platelets remaining.

Transport: blood and circulation
2017The blood system transports nutrients, oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogenous wastes; other functions include defence. Fish have a closed, single circulation in which blood is pumped by a contractile heart via a ventral aorta to the gills, then via the dorsal aorta to vessels supplying the tissues and organs, with a venous return to the heart.

CIRCULATING BLOOD VOLUME CHANGES
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1959To the Editor:— We believe that the validity of blood volume determinations with use of radioiodinated serum albumin is well established provided proper precautions are taken to reduce technical error. In fact, Hlad and Tanz ( J. Lab. & Clin. Med. 52 :289-298 [Aug.] 1958) reported a standard error of ±2% in vivo!
