On an unusual swarming of the planktonic blue-green algae Trichodesmium Spp., off Mangalore [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
Instances of discoloured water phenomenon in the Indian waters have been reported earlier. This is caused by a variety of organisms such as blue-green algae, cystoflagellates and dinoflagellates, and is sometimes associated with adverse effects on the ...

Polyethyleneimine‐Modified Biosorbent Based on Banana Pseudostem Biomass for Environmental Remediation and Food Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
Biosorbents derived from banana pseudostem are functionalized with polyethyleneimine, with or without glutaraldehyde, and evaluated for dye removal and solid‐phase extraction. The materials exhibit high adsorption capacities and broad pH applicability in dye removal, while computational studies reveal amino groups as key interaction sites.

Excitation Energy Transfer between Porphyrin Dyes on a Clay Surface: A Study Employing Multifidelity Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
Inspired by natural light‐harvesting systems, this study computationally investigates a synthetic antenna by arranging cationic free‐base porphyrin molecules on an anionic clay surface. Using a multiscale quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) approach combined with a multifidelity machine learning method, excitation energies are predicted ...
