A construction strategy for a baculovirus‐silkworm multigene expression system and its application for coexpression of type I and type II interferons

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2020., 2020
In this study, we developed a construction strategy of recombinant Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus for multigene coexpression. This strategy provides a method for gene deletion or insertion at any site of the baculovirus genome in Escherichia coli.

Gene Expression Pattern and Regulatory Network of α‐Toxin Treatment in Bombyx mori

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
Bacillus bombyseptieus is a pathogen of Bombyx mori; it can cause bacterial septicemia in silkworm. One of the components of the parasporal crystal toxin of B. bombyseptieus, α‐toxin, plays an important role in the process of infection in silkworm. In this study, we investigated the immune response of silkworm induced by α‐toxin by using RNA‐seq.

PTP interacts with ORF1629 in BmNPV-infected cells.

open access: yes, 2012
(A) A yeast two-hybrid screen was performed to identify interactions between BmNPV PTP and proteins in BmNPV-infected (12 h p.i.) BmN cells or in epidermal tissues from BmNPV-infected (2 d p.i.) 5th instar B. mori.

The Expression, Purification, and Characterization of a Ras Oncogene (Bras2) in Silkworm (Bombyx mori)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
The Ras oncogene of silkworm pupae (Bras2) may belong to the Ras superfamily. It shares 77% of its amino acid identity with teratocarcinoma oncogene 21 (TC21) related ras viral oncogene homolog‐2 (R‐Ras2) and possesses an identical core effector region. The mRNA of Bombyx mori Bras2 has 1412 bp. The open reading frame contains 603 bp, which encodes 200

Sensitivity of Polyvoltine Thai Strains of Bombyx mori to a BmNPV Isolate From Mahasarakham

open access: yes, 2020
Virus infection by the Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) is the most severe disease in Thai sericultural practice of polyvoltine silkworms. Here, we characterized a newly isolated BmNPV isolated from the Mahasarakham province in Thailand (BmNPV ...

Use of Bacterial Artificial Chromosomes in Baculovirus Research and Recombinant Protein Expression: Current Trends and Future Perspectives

open access: yesInternational Scholarly Research Notices, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
The baculovirus expression system is one of the most successful and widely used eukaryotic protein expression methods. This short review will summarise the role of bacterial artificial chromosomes (BACS) as an enabling technology for the modification of the virus genome. For many years baculovirus genomes have been maintained in E.

RNAi Regulator C3PO Promotes Arbovirus Infection in Insect Vectors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 4, 19 January 2026.
RNA interference (RNAi) is vital for eukaryotes to defend against virus infection. The C3PO complex takes part in RNAi but its role in regulating viral infection remains unclear. This work finds that insect C3PO facilitates arbovirus replication by degrading precursors of miRNAs, especially miR‐971‐3p.

Protection against Autoimmune Diabetes by Silkworm‐Produced GFP‐Tagged CTB‐Insulin Fusion Protein

open access: yesJournal of Immunology Research, Volume 2011, Issue 1, 2011., 2011
In animals, oral administration of the cholera toxin B (CTB) subunit conjugated to the autoantigen insulin enhances the specific immune‐unresponsive state. This is called oral tolerance and is capable of suppressing autoimmune type 1 diabetes (T1D).
