To BMP or not to BMP during vertebrate limb bud development
Seminars in Cell & Developmental Biology, 2014The analysis of vertebrate limb bud development provides insight of general relevance into the signaling networks that underlie the controlled proliferative expansion of large populations of mesenchymal progenitors, cell fate determination and initiation of differentiation.

Orthopaedic Nursing, 2005
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP) are being increasingly used in orthopaedic surgery. These small molecules are capable of inducing bone formation when delivered in the appropriate concentration and on the appropriate scaffold. Not all BMPs are equally effective, and there are currently only two Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved "on-label ...

BMP PERFORMANCE COMPARISONS: EXAMPLES FROM THE INTERNATIONAL STORMWATER BMP DATABASE
Proceedings of the Water Environment Federation, 2005This paper explores the relative pollutant removal performance of several BMPs using data contained in the International Stormwater BMP Database. These BMPs include retention ponds, extended detention basins, vegetated swales, and sand filters. While the Database contains numerous studies with varying amounts of detail, this comparison is based on the ...

Comparison of BMP Performance Using the International BMP Database
Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 2008This paper explores the performance and relative pollutant removal of several common best management practices (BMPs) using data contained in the International Stormwater BMP Database. These BMPs include retention (wet) ponds, extended detention basins, vegetated swales, and sand filters.

Bone morphogenetic proteins are regulators of embryonic development with multiple functions in adult organs and tissues. Here we summarize effects of BMPs outside the musculoskeletal system, focused on their role in inflammatory disorders, e.g., fibrosis, inflammatory bowel disease, anchylosing spondylitis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
