Ethos, Volume 53, Issue 4, December 2025.Abstract This article examines Perú’s transition from mental healthcare in psychiatric hospitals to a Community Mental Health (CMH) model. Based on 18 months of fieldwork on the outskirts of Lima, I show that one of CMH's effects has been an unexpected increase in rumors and accusations between neighbors.

Trapping is not effective for limiting damage by Vespa velutina in vineyards
Pest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 10, Page 6768-6778, October 2025.Vespa velutina is an invasive hornet that damages grapes. Baited traps are commonly used to mitigate them, but trap effectiveness in vineyards has not been tested. Our study found no significant reduction in damage from trapping, and high and variable by‐catch rates. Sustainable vineyard management methods should be explored.
