Design of Novel Pyrene-Bodipy Dyads: Synthesis, Characterization, Optical Properties, and FRET Studies

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
A new series of dendronized bodipys containing pyrene units was synthesized and characterized. Their optical and photophysical properties were determined by absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy. This series includes three different compounds.

Radioiodination of BODIPY and its application to a nuclear and optical dual functional labeling agent for proteins and peptides

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
In molecular imaging research, the development of multimodal imaging probes has recently attracted much attention. In the present study, we prepared radioiodinated BODIPY and applied it as a nuclear and optical dual functional labeling agent for proteins

Preparation of diverse BODIPY diesters [PDF]

open access: yesTetrahedron Letters, 2018
The synthesis and properties of a variety of substituted BODIPY diesters is presented. We find that certain substitution patterns afford appreciable yields of the target compounds and that electronic effects result in predicable differential fluorescent behavior.

A review of the synthetic strategies for the development of BODIPY dyes for conjugation with proteins.

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2013
Conjugation of fluorophores to proteins is fundamental to several biotechnological applications and in the last decades boron-dipyrromethene (BODIPY) dyes started to be used in this field.

Spectroscopic Evidence of Energy Transfer in BODIPY-Incorporated Nano-Porphyrinic Metal-Organic Frameworks

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) represent a class of solid-state hybrid compounds consisting of multitopic organic struts and metal-based nodes that are interconnected by coordination bonds, and they are ideal for light harvesting due to their highly ...

Carbohydrates and BODIPYs: access to bioconjugatable and water-soluble BODIPYs

open access: yesPure and Applied Chemistry, 2019
AbstractFluorescent difluoroboron dipyrromethenes (BODIPYs), have been accessed in a one-pot synthetic operation from phthalides and pyrroles, a process that involvesO-ethylation of phthalides with Meerwein’s reagent (Et3OBF4) and reaction of the ensuing tetrafluoroborate salts with pyrrole, followed by treatment with BF3 · OEt2.

Photophysical properties of furan-bridged dimeric boron-dipyrromethene derivatives (BODIPYs)

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Research, 2022
In order to investigate the changes in the spectroscopic properties of dimeric boron-dipyrromethenes (BODIPYs), four BODIPY derivatives are synthesized, including a monomer BODIPY in which a furyl group is substituted at the meso position and a dimer ...

Human Serum Albumin Labelling with a New BODIPY Dye Having a Large Stokes Shift

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
BODIPY dyes are photostable neutral derivatives of 4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene. These are widely used as chemosensors, laser materials, and molecular probes.

Novel BODIPY-bridged cyclotriphosphazenes

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF CHEMISTRY, 2020
Three new 2-component unsubstituted ( 4P ), diiodo- ( 5P ), and dibromo- ( 6P ) distyryl-BODIPY-bridged cyclotriphosphazene dimers were designed and synthesized. The newly synthesized BODIPY-cyclotriphosphazene systems were characterized by 1 H, 13 C, and 31 P NMR spectroscopy.
