The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

Relationship between body weight and body measurements of Aceh cattle [PDF]

open access: yesMalaysian Journal of Animal Science, 2015
Data on body weight (BW) and measurements: withers height (WH), body length (BL) and heart girth (HG) of 79 (39 males and 40 females) of Aceh cattle (average 550 days of age) were collected at the Breeding Station in Indrapuri district, Aceh Besar ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Predicting the level and digital achievement in terms of some body measurements of 2000-meter rowing players in qualifying for the 2023 Asian Cup Championship

open access: yesالتربية الرياضية
The study aimed to identify the relationship of body measurements to the level and digital achievement of 2000-meter rowing players in the 2023 Asian Cup Championship, and to identify the contribution of body measurements to the digital level of 2000 ...

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

The determination of growth in Akkeci (White goat) female kids by various growth models

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2006
This study aimed to determine the growth of 26 Akkeci (White goat = Saanen × Kilis (Bi) crossbreed) female kids by measuring their body weight, withers height, body length, heart girth depth, heart girth width, heart girth circumference, leg ...

Detecting non-locality in multipartite quantum systems with two-body correlation functions

open access: yes, 2013
Bell inequalities define experimentally observable quantities to detect non-locality. In general, they involve correlation functions of all the parties.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
