BONE DENSITOMETRY A TOOL TO DIAGNOSE OSTEOPROSIS [PDF]

open access: yes
Bone densitometry is most often used to diagnose osteoprosis, a condition that often affects women after menopause but may also found in men. This exam also assess risk for developing fractures, is effective in tracking the effects of treatment for ...

Myeloid‐Derived Grancalcin Promotes Periodontal Inflammation and Pathological Bone Remodeling in Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
Grancalcin (GCA), a myeloid‐derived protein, is enriched in gingival tissues of periodontitis patients and mouse models. Through interactions with CD44 and activation of MYH9, GCA promotes NF‐κB signaling and exacerbates periodontal inflammation and bone loss.

Bone mineral densitometry in clinical practice

open access: yes, 1995
EDITOR,--J E Compston and colleagues emphasise the merits of assessing bone density in patients relative to that in young adults (the T score) rather than relative to that in controls matched for age (the Z score), on the basis of the recommendations of ...

Women with epilepsy: Evidence‐based counseling across the lifespan

open access: yesEpilepsia, Volume 67, Issue 6, Page 2689-2706, June 2026.
Abstract Women with epilepsy (WWE) encounter distinct and evolving challenges across the lifespan that require clinical management extending beyond seizure control alone. Although awareness of sex‐specific aspects of epilepsy has increased, important gaps remain in their integration into routine care.

Polygonati Rhizoma Attenuates Oxidative Stress‐Induced Senescence in Periodontal Ligament Stem Cells

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
Network pharmacology identified the potential targets and pathways of Polygonati Rhizoma (PR) against aging‐related periodontitis through PPI, GO/KEGG enrichment, and molecular docking. Experimental validation in a D‐galactose‐induced senescence model of periodontal ligament stem cells showed that PR‐medicated serum attenuated cellular senescence and ...

The Rising Burden of Osteosarcopenia in Older Adults: A Narrative Review of Pathophysiology, Diagnostic Challenges, and Therapeutic Perspectives

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Osteosarcopenia, defined as the coexistence of osteoporosis and sarcopenia, is an emerging geriatric syndrome linked to the musculoskeletal decline associated with aging. It is correlated with an increased risk of falls, fractures, disability, and mortality.
