Collagenous bone matrix-induced endochondral ossification hemopoiesis. [PDF]
Transplantation of collagenous matrix from the rat diaphyseal bone to subcutaneous sites resulted in new bone formation by an endochondral sequence. Functional bone marrow develops within the newly formed ossicle.

The role of bone marrow adipocytes in bone metastasis [PDF]
Adipocytes are a significant component of the bone marrow microenvironment. Although bone marrow adipocytes were first identified more than 100 years ago, it is only in recent years that an understanding of their complex physiological role is emerging ...

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...

Bone Marrow Microenvironment and Tumor Progression [PDF]
The bone marrow constitutes an unique microenvironment for cancer cells in three specific aspects. First, the bone marrow actively recruits circulating tumor cells where they find a sanctuary rich in growth factors and cytokines that promote their ...

Classification of acute myeloid leukemia based on multi‐omics and prognosis prediction value
The Unsupervised AML Multi‐Omics Classification System (UAMOCS) integrates genomic, methylation, and transcriptomic data to categorize AML patients into three subtypes (UAMOCS1‐3). This classification reveals clinical relevance, highlighting immune and chromosomal characteristics, prognosis, and therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Sustained expression of microRNA-155 in hematopoietic stem cells causes a myeloproliferative disorder [PDF]
Mammalian microRNAs are emerging as key regulators of the development and function of the immune system. Here, we report a strong but transient induction of miR-155 in mouse bone marrow after injection of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) correlated ...

This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Bone marrow aspiration biopsies are carried out principally to permit cytological assessment but also for immunophenotypic, cytogenetic, molecular genetic, and other specialised investigations. Often, a trephine biopsy is carried out as part of the same procedure. Bone marrow aspirations should be carried out by trained individuals who are aware of the
