Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasia - a rare type of acute leukemia

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Laboratory Medicine, 2014
Neoplasmul cu celule dendritice plasmocitoide blastice (NCDPB), clasificat recent în grupul leucemiilor acute mieloide este o boală hematologică malignă rară cu evoluţie clinică extrem de agresivă.

Rescue of myeloid lineage-committed preprogenitor cells from cytomegalovirus-infected bone marrow stroma [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The effect of murine cytomegalovirus on myelopoiesis was studied in long-term bone marrow culture to find an in vitro correlate for the lethal virus interference with bone marrow reconstitution (W. Mutter, M. J. Reddehase, F. W. Busch, H.-J. Bühring, and

Robust acute myeloid leukemia engraftment in humanized scaffolds using injectable biomaterials and intravenous xenotransplantation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived xenografts (PDXs) can be improved by implantation of a humanized niche. We tested different biomaterials and approaches, and demonstrate that the combination of an injectable biomaterial for scaffold creation plus an intravenous route for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) xenotransplantation provide the most convenient and robust approach to

Differentiation of metastatic lesions to the bones and multiple myeloma – a case study

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport, 2020
Bones are one of the most common locations for cancer metastasis. Foci, which are in the most cases osteolytic, are located in the spine, ribs, pelvis, long bones.

Polyfunctional CD8+CD226+RUNX2hi effector T cells are diminished in advanced stages of chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CD226+CD8+ T cells express elevated levels of RUNX2, exhibit higher proliferation capacity, cytokines and cytolytic molecules expression, and migratory capacity. In contrast, CD226−CD8+ T cells display an exhausted phenotype associated with the increased expression of co‐inhibitory receptors and impaired effector functions.

Modeling the Multiple Myeloma Vicious Cycle: Signaling Across the Bone Marrow Microenvironment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Multiple myeloma is a plasma cell cancer that leads to a dysregulated bone remodeling process. We present a partial differential equation model describing the dynamics of bone remodeling with the presence of myeloma tumor cells. The model explicitly takes into account the roles of osteoclasts, osteoblasts, precursor cells, stromal cells, osteocytes ...

Incidence of bone formation by whole bone marrow cell suspensions and by its stromal cell cultures injected into kidney parenchyma of Balb/c mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The evaluation of incidence of bone formation by whole syngeneic bone marrow cell suspension and by bone marrow stromal cell cultured in vitro injection into kidney parenchyma was done.

Inhibition of acyl‐CoA synthetase long‐chain isozymes decreases multiple myeloma cell proliferation and causes mitochondrial dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Triacsin C inhibition of the acyl‐CoA synthetase long chain (ACSL) family decreases multiple myeloma cell survival, proliferation, mitochondrial respiration, and membrane potential. Made with Biorender.com. Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable cancer of plasma cells with a 5‐year survival rate of 59%.

A distinct molecular mutational profile and its clinical impact in essential thrombocythemia and primary myelofibrosis patients

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2020
Background Classical MPNs including ET and PMF have a chronic course and potential for leukaemic transformation. Timely diagnosis is obligatory to ensure appropriate management and positive outcomes.
