Comparative study between lateral decubitus and traction table for treatment of pertrochanteric fractures with cephalomedullary nails ☆

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ortopedia
OBJECTIVE: To perform a retrospective radiographic assessment of the reduction and implant position in the femoral head in patients with pertrochanteric fractures treated with cephalomedullary nailing in the lateral position versus traction table ...

Automating Vascular Biology: An End‐to‐End Automated Workflow for High‐Throughput Blood Vessel‐on‐a‐Chip Production and Multi‐Site Validation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
AngioPlate384 is a 384‐well open‐top platform that automates production of more than 100 miniaturized, perfusable blood vessels embedded in hydrogel and supported by stromal cells. Stromal‐endothelial co‐culture strengthens blood vessel barrier function and yields responses useful for translational planning. Scalable and automation‐ready, it suits drug

Diels‐Alder Click Chemistry as a Dynamic‐Covalent Crosslinking Method in Spheroid‐Encapsulating Hydrogels for Cartilage Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This research shows the development of hydrogels with Diels‐Alder click chemistry for engineering cartilage‐like tissue. The hydrogels support cartilage spheroids which could be cultured for at least 28 days. Furthermore, the spheroids showed a tendency to fuse together into a more consistent construct, and produced important components needed for ...

Biomechanics of subtrochanteric fracture fixation using short cephalomedullary nails: A finite element analysis.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
A finite element analysis was performed to evaluate the stresses around nails and cortical bones in subtrochanteric (ST) fracture models fixed using short cephalomedullary nails (CMNs).

Evaluation of the Dual Impact of Nanotechnologies on Health and Environment Through Alternative Bridging Models

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores how alternative invertebrate and small‐vertebrate models advance the evaluation of nanomaterials across medicine and environmental science. By bridging cellular and organismal levels, these models enable integrated assessment of toxicity, biodistribution, and therapeutic performance.

Intramedulary locking nail elastic osteosynthesis in a cat femoral proximal fracture - case report [PDF]

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia
Intramedullary nails are the focus of scientific studies in small animal orthopedic surgery because the use of these materials in fractures of immature, small-sized patients, and in proximal bone regions is challenging.

Harnessing Chain Mobility via Protonation for Tough and Isotropic Hydrogel

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A protonation‐guided strategy enables ultra‐tough, isotropic PVA hydrogels by temporarily unlocking chain mobility via acidification and fixing homogeneous networks through salting‐out. The resulting materials simultaneously achieve high strength, extreme stretchability, and record‐level toughness, offering a generalizable route toward robust hydrogels
