1,7‐Digallatetracarborane: Between Nucleophilic closo‐Cluster and “Inverse Sandwich” Digallylene

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A dianionic π‐ligand is used to make a Janus‐type twofold complex with low‐valent gallium Ga(+I). The resulting compound can be seen as and reveals the reactivity of both: a Wade‐type closo‐carborane cluster with nucleophilic Ga‐sites, as well as π‐ligand stabilized Ga(I) atoms in an inverse sandwich compound.

Phosphido-borane-supported stannates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
\ua9 2023 The Royal Society of Chemistry. The reactions between SnCl2 and three equivalents of the alkali metal phosphido-borane complexes [R2P(BH3)]M yield the corresponding tris(phosphido-borane)stannate complexes [LnM{R2P(BH3)}3Sn] [R2 = iPr2, LnM ...

Phase Engineering of Atomically Precise Nanoclusters (APNCs) of Gold and Beyond

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Engineering the structural phase of materials is of paramount importance for both fundamental research and practical applications. In this Review, we summarize the recent progress in controlling the phases of atomically precise nanoclusters (APNCs) of gold, silver and copper, as well as bimetallic systems. The phase‐enabled material properties of APNCs

Copper(II/III) Redox Couple Enables C─H Methylation via a Radical Mechanism Analogous to SAM Enzymes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Biological C–H methylation proceeds through radical pathways mediated by one‐electron redox cofactors, yet no synthetic model has reproduced this reactivity. Here, we report the first isolable Cu(II/III)–methyl complexes that mediate C–H methylation through hydrogen atom transfer and methyl radical rebound.

Zeolite framework stabilized rhodium(0) nanoclusters catalyst for the hydrolysis of ammonia-borane in air: Outstanding catalytic activity, reusability and lifetime

open access: yes, 2009
Zeolite framework stabilized rhodium(0) nanoclusters; were prepared by a two steps procedure: incorporation of Rh3+ ions into the Zeolite-Y by ion-exchange followed by in situ reduction of Rh3+ ions during the catalytic hydrolysis of ammonia-borane. They

Ultrathin Li Metal Anodes: Quantitative Design Principles and Manufacturability Across Liquid and Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrathin lithium metal anodes (≤15 µm) offer a promising route to high‐energy‐density batteries due to their high capacity and low potential. This review presents design principles for ultrathin Li, evaluates fabrication strategies, and discusses challenges in liquid and solid‐state cells.

Polarity‐Directed Synthesis of an Exfoliable 2D Polyoxometalate‐Based Metal‐Organic Framework for Noble Metal‐Free Alkyne Transfer Semi‐Hydrogenation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Exfoliation of 2D nanosheets based on polyoxometalate metal‐organic frameworks (POMOFs) gives access to nanostructures with selective catalytic reactivity for the alkyne transfer semi‐hydrogenation which outperform the bulk references and rival some classical noble metal‐based catalysts.
