The impact of red giant/AGB winds on AGN jet propagation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Dense stellar winds may mass-load the jets of active galactic nuclei, although it is unclear what are the time and spatial scales in which the mixing takes place.

Tailored Catalytic Microenvironments Enable Efficient Electrochemical Ammonia Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that Co2+ substitution in inverse spinel FeFeCoO4 constructs an integrated catalytic microenvironment for efficient nitrate‐to‐ammonia reduction. Jahn–Teller distortion activates Fe sites for *H generation, while hard–soft acid–base regulated dual‐metal sites optimize proton‐coupled electron transfer and intermediate adsorption ...

Wrinkled Strain‐Enriched High‐Entropy Metallene Enables Cross‐Site Tandem Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A wrinkled 2D PdFeCoNiCuIn high‐entropy metallene overcomes the low atom utilization of high‐entropy alloys. Indium‐induced strain and p‐d hybridization enable a cross‐site tandem pathway for nitrate reduction to ammonia. It achieves 99.3% Faradaic efficiency and an NH3 yield rate of 4.55 mmol h−1 mgcat−1.

Galaxy evolution in groups and clusters: satellite star formation histories and quenching timescales in a hierarchical Universe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Satellite galaxies in groups and clusters are more likely to have low star formation rates (SFR) and lie on the red-sequence than central (field) galaxies.

Bioinspired Interfacial Hydration Engineering via Metal–Organic Frameworks for Efficient Nitrate‐To‐Ammonia Conversion in Neutral Media

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by Nitrite reductase, a metal–organic framework overlayer is introduced to regulate the interfacial hydration microenvironment on Cu electrodes, enriching hydrated K+ species that act as efficient proton donors. This strategy enables nitrate‐to‐ammonia conversion with near‐unity selectivity at industrial‐level current densities in neutral ...

Atomic‐Scale Understanding of Selectivity Control in Nitrate Reduction on Cu(100) Under Acidic and Alkaline Conditions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A combination of ab initio molecular dynamics simulations and density functional theory calculations clarifies the pH‐dependent origin of the selectivity of nitrate reduction on Cu(100). ABSTRACT We investigate the nitrate reduction reaction (NO3 RR) on the Cu(100) surface using grand‐canonical density functional theory (GC‐DFT) under constant ...

Solid solution for catalytic ammonia synthesis from nitrogen and hydrogen gases at 50 °C

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Ammonia synthesis via the Haber–Bosch process typically takes place at an elevated temperature in order to achieve a reasonable rate. Here the authors report on a CaFH solid solution with low activation energy for catalytic ammonia synthesis at lower ...

Looking for Options to Sustainably Fixate Nitrogen. Are Molecular Metal Oxides Catalysts a Viable Avenue?

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2021
Fast and reliable industrial production of ammonia (NH3) is fundamentally sustaining modern society. Since the early 20th Century, NH3 has been synthesized via the Haber–Bosch process, running at conditions of around 350–500°C and 100–200 times ...

Markkinoinnin CRM-järjestelmän käyttöönotto Robert Bosch Oy:ssä liidienhallintatyökaluna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Insinöörityössä käsiteltiin markkinoinnin asiakkuudenhallinta eli CRM-järjestelmän käyttöönottoa liidein hallinta työkaluna Robert Bosch Oy:ssä. Tilaajayritys on huomannut nykyisten liidien toteutumisen seurannan olevan haastavaa ja aikaa vievää. Lisäksi

High-energy emission from jet-clump interactions in microquasars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
High-mass microquasars are binary systems consisting of a massive star and an accreting compact object from which relativistic jets are launched. There is considerable observational evidence that winds of massive stars are clumpy.
