Theory of pressure acoustics with boundary layers and streaming in curved elastic cavities [PDF]
The acoustic fields and streaming in a confined fluid depend strongly on the acoustic boundary layer forming near the wall. The width of this layer is typically much smaller than the bulk length scale set by the geometry or the acoustic wavelength, which

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Dual solutions of slip flow past a nonlinearly shrinking permeable sheet
The aim of the paper is to investigate the flow of an incompressible viscous fluid past a nonlinearly shrinking permeable sheet. Partial slip condition is considered instead of no slip condition at the boundary.

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Effect of expansion waves on cowl shock wave and boundary layer interaction in hypersonic inlet
The interaction of cowl shock wave and boundary layer has a crucial effect on the stability, operability and performance of hypersonic inlets. Many studies on inhibiting the separation and managing the strength of the interaction of the shock wave and ...

Description of the Overall Mass Transport during Membrane Gas Separation
Concentration polarization has often been observed in membrane gas separation when there is an accumulation of the less permeable species and a depletion of the more permeable components in the boundary layer of the fluid phase as a result of high fluxes

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
