β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Functions of Well-Bounded Operators [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1984
It is shown that if A A is a well-bounded operator of type (B), and if f f is of bounded variation and piecewise monotone, then f ( A ) f(A) is also well bounded of type (B).

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Complexity and fractal dimensions for infinite sequences with positive entropy

open access: yes, 2017
The complexity function of an infinite word $w$ on a finite alphabet $A$ is the sequence counting, for each non-negative $n$, the number of words of length $n$ on the alphabet $A$ that are factors of the infinite word $w$.

ON p-ADIC BOUNDED FUNCTIONS

open access: yesMemoirs of the Faculty of Science, Kyusyu University. Series A, Mathematics, 1992
Let \(\mathbb{N}\) be equipped with the \(p\)-adic metric, let \(f: \mathbb{N}\to\mathbb{C}_ p\) (where \(\mathbb{C}_ p\) is the completion of the algebraic closure of the field of the \(p\)-adic numbers) be bounded. The authors establish relationships between the Mahler coefficients \(\Delta^ i f(0)=\sum^ i_{j=0}(-1)^{i-j}{i\choose j} f(j)\) and the `\

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

On Functions of Bounded Rotation [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1972
For fixed k_ 2, denote by Vk and Rk the classes of functions regular in the unit disc and having boundary and radial rotation, respectively, at most klT. The concept of order of a function is defined for both Vk and Rk. For functions in these classes, the growth of integral and coefficient means is studied in terms of the order of the function.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein
