Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Cesàro Summable Sequence Spaces over the Non-Newtonian Complex Field

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2016
The spaces ω0p, ωp, and ω∞p can be considered the sets of all sequences that are strongly summable to zero, strongly summable, and bounded, by the Cesàro method of order 1 with index p.

On existence of positive solutions of coupled integral boundary value problems for a nonlinear singular superlinear differential system

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2012
By constructing a special cone and using fixed point index theory, this paper investigates the existence of positive solutions of singular superlinear coupled integral boundary value problems for differential systems $$\left\{ \begin{array}{ll} -x''(t ...

Laspeyres-Paasche bounds for productivity index

open access: yesJournal of Productivity Analysis
Abstract The Laspeyres and Paasche indices are two widely used empirical indices. One of their key features is their ability to provide upper and lower bounds, respectively, for the cost-of-living index, which is the representative theoretical consumer price index.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

On the Ritt order of a certain class of functions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1983
The authors introduce the notions of Ritt order and lower order to functions defined by the series ∑1∞fn(s)exp(−λns) where (λn) is a D-sequence and fn(s) are entire functions of bounded index.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Finite groups and Lie rings with an automorphism of order $2^n$

open access: yes, 2015
Suppose that a finite group $G$ admits an automorphism $\varphi $ of order $2^n$ such that the fixed-point subgroup $C_G(\varphi ^{2^{n-1}})$ of the involution $\varphi ^{2^{n-1}}$ is nilpotent of class $c$.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Unified Loadability Quality Factor (ULQF): A bounded and interpretable voltage stability index

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Voltage stability assessment remains a critical challenge in evolving power networks, which are increasingly influenced by load variability, renewable energy integration, and distributed energy resources.
