Left: Schematic of a coronal section of the adult ferret brain, showing the location of a collection of Dcx+ cells (green) ventrally to the amygdala (grey) in a region homologous to the PL in other species. These cells are spatially distributed either as individual cells in a dispersed field or in clusters (1). Cells in the ferret PL display molecular (

Homologies entre les deux rétrovirus BLV et HTLV-1 et développement d’une nouvelle approche thérapeutique basée sur la levée de la latence virale [PDF]
Homologies between BLV and HTLV-1 retroviruses and development of a novel therapeutic approach based on induction of viral expression. BLV (bovine leukemia virus) and HTLV-1 (human T-cell leukemia virus) are related retroviruses inducing leukemia (BLV ...

Co-infection with bovine herpesvirus type 1 and bovine leukemia virus in dairy cattle in cajamarca, peru: A seroprevalence study [PDF]
Bovine herpesvirus type 1 (BoHV-1) and bovine leukemia virus (BLV) are among the most important pathogens affecting dairy cattle, causing significant economic losses worldwide.

Protease‐mediated maturation of M‐PMV reverse transcriptase into a functional heterodimer
Abstract Reverse transcriptase (RT) of retroviruses orchestrates viral replication, yet its structural diversity remains poorly understood. Well‐studied RTs, such as those from HIV‐1, murine leukemia virus, and avian myeloblastosis virus, were characterized decades ago, but less prominent retroviruses have escaped detailed analysis.

A DNA vaccination trial was performed on sheep to determine whether vaccination with bovine leukemia virus (BLV) transactivator Tax DNA is effective against BLV infection. Immunization was carried out with cationic liposomes containing the Tax-expressing plasmid DNA and subsequently all sheep were challenged with BLV.
