Mercury’s Bow Shock and Magnetopause Variations According to MESSENGER Data

open access: yesUniverse
Using data from the MESSENGER spacecraft magnetometer that describes the magnetopause and the bow shock crossing points of the Mercury’s magnetosphere, we have calculated the parameters of the paraboloids of revolution approximating the obtained points ...

ANALYTICAL MODEL OF THE PLANETARY BOW SHOCK FOR VARIOUS MAGNETIC FIELD DIRECTIONS BASED ON MHD CALCULATIONS

open access: yesSolar-Terrestrial Physics, 2020
Study of physical processes in plasma near planets often requires knowledge of the position and shape of the planetary bow shock. Empirical models are usually used since theoretical MHD and kinetic models consume too much computer time and cannot be used

THEMIS satellite observations of hot flow anomalies at Earth's bow shock [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2017
Hot flow anomalies (HFAs) at Earth's bow shock were identified in Time History of Events and Macroscale Interactions During Substorms (THEMIS) satellite data from 2007 to 2009.

NSD2 Coordinates the Neurogenic‐to‐Gliogenic Transition via H3K36me2‐Dependent Activation of the EGFR‐ERK Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NSD2 coordinates the neurogenic‐to‐gliogenic transition in the developing neocortex through H3K36me2‐dependent activation of EGFR–ERK signaling. Loss of NSD2 disrupts astroglial and oligodendroglial development, whereas ERK activation rescues gliogenic defects in vitro and in vivo.

Programmable Encapsulation Enables On‐Demand Proliferation of Therapeutic Bacteria for Potent Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A programmable encapsulation technology is developed to reduce bacterial immunogenicity and proliferation after systemic administration. The cross‐linked polymer networks around individual bacteria enable immunogenic shielding and permit selective proliferation in tumors, allowing the bacteria to convert tumor‐accumulated ammonia into L‐arginine and ...

The Milky Way Project MOBStIRS: Parameterizing Infrared Stellar-wind Bow Shock Morphologies with Citizen Science

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Mass-loss influences stellar evolution, especially for massive stars with strong winds. Stellar wind bow shock nebulae driven by Galactic OB stars can be used to measure mass-loss rates ( $\dot{M}$ ).

Human Dental Pulp Stem Cell Secretome Restores Ischemic Stroke–Impaired Motor and Cognitive Functions by Reprogramming Redox and Inflammatory Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human dental pulp stem cell secretome emerges as a cell‐free therapeutic strategy for ischemic stroke by reprogramming redox and inflammatory signaling. hDPSC secretome‐derived antioxidant and immunomodulatory factors suppress the TLR4–NOX–ROS–NF‐κB axis, reduce microglial inflammatory responses and apoptosis, and promote neurogenesis, angiogenesis ...

The structure of perpendicular bow shocks

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 1982
A hybrid simulation model with kinetic ions, massless fluid electrons, and phenomenological resistivity is used to study the perpendicular configuration of the bow shocks of the earth and other planets. We investigate a wide range of parameters, including the upstream Mach number, electron and ion beta (ratios of thermal to magnetic pressure), and ...

Livestock Multi‐Omics Integration: A Systematic Framework From Statistical Association to Causal Interpretation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A three‐tier livestock multi‐omics framework resolves four typical analytical pitfalls. Moving from statistical association through machine learning preprocessing to triple‐modal causal inference, it converts omics results into genomic selection and gene editing strategies to achieve One Health, underpinned by multi‐omics data, multimodal sequencing ...

Endothelial miR‐15a/16‐1 Regulation of SYNE1 Mediates Structural and Functional Recovery after Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Endothelial miR‐15a/16‐1 deletion promotes long‐term recovery after traumatic brain injury by restoring SYNE1 expression. Enhanced endothelial SYNE1 preserves vascular integrity, protects white and gray matter, and improves neurological function. The endothelial miR‐15a/16‐1–SYNE1 axis emerges as a key regulator of neurovascular repair and a potential ...
