Temperature and vector bending sensing with a supermode fiber Bragg grating
Due to their multiple advantages, single-mode fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) are widely used in a myriad of practical sensing applications. However, their concurrent sensitivity to strain and temperature makes a reference sensor necessary in several ...

W(SxSe1−x)2, Te:WSSe, and WS2@WSSe nanotubes were synthesized through controlled precursor composition. The W(SxSe1−x)2 and Te:WSSe nanotubes exhibit small‐diameter (<30 nm), high‐yield, and well‐defined excitonic transitions. Composition tuning via S/Se ratios increases interlayer spacing with higher Se content. The incorporation of Te remains limited

Preparation of Rocksalt‐Type Semiconductor Ca2TaN3 via Hot Isostatic Pressing
The rocksalt‐type nitride Ca2TaN3 was prepared via hot isostatic pressing at 1400°C and 150 MPa of static dinitrogen pressure. The yellow compound is a semiconductor with a bandgap of 2.5 eV. The rocksalt‐type double nitride Ca2TaN3 was synthesized via hot isostatic pressing (HIP) at 1400°C and 150 MPa static dinitrogen pressure from Ca3N2 and Ta3N5 ...
